And mom is hard to please when it comes to movies, she either doesn't like it or it's ok with a few exceptions. (her favourites include musicals, like Footloose, Grease, Dirty Dancing, and La Bamba)

My dad doesn't really watch movies, so these are just my mom's opinions:

Moulin Rouge!
The first time she liked it but wasn't really in love with it, so I made her watch it again, but alas with the same results.

Gone with the Wind
She's seen it many times and really likes it, but thinks it's a little overlong. Loves Clarke Gable.

Casablanca
She saw it a long time ago and thought it was nothing special and somewhat boring. Can't stand Humphry Bogart (in Casblanca and in general). :(

All About Eve
She hasn't seen it - I'd get her to watch it, but the damn DVD has no subtitles and she doesn't speak Engligh. :(

Rebecca - loves it and especailly loves Joan Fontain's performance, just like me. :)

Always a winner...they both liked it back in the glorious 70's, bit too violent for Mother mind.

Secrets & Lies
Thumbs-up from both camp's.

They only watched it a fortnight ago...Mam particularly liked it, shame she fell asleep just near the end and didn't have the heart to tell me Father. I updated her and she plans on watching it again some time.

Here's what they think of my top 10...
1. Fight Club-
Pops- Thought it was so-so, doesn't like fist fighting and thought the end was really dumb.
Mom- Didn't see, she'd hate it.
2. The Usual Suspects-
P- Loved it, turned me on to it.
M- Saw it, forgot it.
3. Donnie Darko-
Both missed it.
4. American Beauty-
P- Liked it, thought it was a tad overrated, but loves Spacey.
M- Don't remember, but she thought it was good.
5. Shawshank Redemption-
Both enjoy it a lot.
6. Goodfellas-
P- Liked it, loves Scorcese.
M- Doesn't know if she saw it or not.
7. A Clockwork Orange-
P- Didn't like it.
M- Didn't see, I'm guessing.
8. Se7en-
P- Thought it was too dark, but so-so. Get's PO'd when I say this is better than Silence of the Lambs.
M- Nope. Didn't see.
9. Reservoir Dogs-
P- Liked, a much bigger Pulp Fiction fan.
M- Wouldn't like. She hates every Tarantino flick she saw, unless she saw Jacki Brown.
10. Kill Bill-
P- Liked it.
M- Yeah. Right. Like she saw it.
