The Battle of Shaker Heights
http://i.imdb.com/Photos/Ss/0357470/bosh_poster.jpg
Plot: "For high school senior Kelly Ernswiler, life is war - or, at least, it's simulated war. In all his 17 years, Kelly has found just one true passion: re-enacting the epic battle scenes of World War II. When he meets Bart Bowland, a fellow war re-enactor who is Kelly's direct opposite, his life take twists and turns he never expected – including a real-life Special Ops mission against a school bully, an ongoing battle with his outrageous family and the epic teenage crush of a lifetime."
Directed By: Efram Potelle (Pennyweight) and Kyle Rankin (They Came To Attack Us).*
Screenplay By: Erica Beeney (Debut).**
** = This film is the result of a contest. Erica Beeney's screenplay was chosen by a group of Hollywood insiders, including Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Chris Jones, and they also chose the director(s) to direct it. Thus, both are relative newcomers.
Executive Produced By: Ben Affleck (Stolen Summer), Matt Damon (Speakeasy), Marc Joubert (Debut), Chris Moore (Good Will Hunting), and Rick Schwartz (Gangs of New York).
MPAA Rating: "PG-13," for language and some drug references.
Starring: Shia LaBeouf (Holes), Elden Henson ("O"), Amy Smart (Road Trip), Billy Kay (Halloween: Resurrection), Kathleen Quinlan (A Civil Action), Shiri Appleby (The Other Sister), William Sadler (The Shawshank Redemption), Ray Wise (Two Can Play That Game), and Anson Mount (Crossroads).
Distributed By: Miramax Films.

Thoughts: I am unsure if I'll see this one. I love the show, but the film itself seems rather bland. I can't say I am totally AGAINST seeing it, but I don't care if I miss it either. I guess I'll see it on DVD.

I dunno, I did watch just about the entire season of Project Greenlight this year (didn't last year). I may as well see the actual movie since I spent so much time watching the making of the movie.
When is this movie coming out?? i really liked the trailer as well, a want to see this, looks like fun. funny thing is, i just found out it was from greenlight project

First of all I hate that Shia kid. I've already seen him in Holes, Dumb and Dumberer and Charlies Angles this year. Plus, this seems kind of "stupid". I mean the irony that two people like to re-enact civil war battles and do so together? Eh, it's not my cup of tea

That pretty much sums up my thoughts.
Anyone know how many theatres this is getting released in?

What I've seen of the Project Greenlight series has been, simply put, a fascinating behind-the-scenes process. But, as it was, Stolen Summer turned out to be a blah, coming of age story. This new film looks about the same: dull and predictable, probably with some nice performances.

This looks good, the poster makes it look like Shia is wearing something a women would wear on their lips unless they were a weird man with some strange fetish. . . .That stuff is Lipstick ;)
OH YEAH!

I think this movie looks great. And I loved the first Project Greenlight movie, the sweet and moving dramedy Stolen Summer. So I am most definately looking forward to this and I HOPE to death that I will not have to wait for this to come out on DVD for me to be able to see it like I did with Stolen Summer.

Good news, it's now up to 47%. Wait until it opens in more theaters, then it will get a higher percentage. I hope.

Looks really fun and nice.
Shia is a friggin good actor for his young age, he played in the criticaly aclaimed Holes which even from Disney, I went to see and really liked it.
He then played in the crapy prequel to Dumb and Dumber.
And a small part in the Charlie's Angels sequel.
The first Project Greenlight film Stolen Summer wasn't that great however I'm really looking forward to see "The Battle of Shaker Heights", it looks interesting, funny, charming and entertaining !!

I will see this movie, because I love the series Project Greenlight and I want to support it any way I can. If nobody sees the movie, then chances are they won't take another chance with the series. It's a great way for a movie lover to see how things really operate behind the scenes. That being said, the guy Shia LeBouf is very funny and talented so hopefully he can save the movie.

I heard that this one got some complaints from the winner since he/she didn't get much control over it. THe directors practically did everything. Also the movie was much more different but a guy from Miramax(same guy who forced Scorsese to cut GONY)wanted the movie to be more comedic and got his wish.

Just saw it today in nyc and enjoyed it - Shia's one talented kid. I think watching the tv show made this movie more enjoyable, although freestanding it is still an entertaining drama/comedy.

Good movie. Shia LaBeouf was really good. He's a funny kid. You could tell that the movie was missing parts and I thought that the parts they took out could have made this movie better. I'd give it a 7/10. Without Shia it would be a 5/10.

Just saw it.
As Annoying Shia LaBouef had been earlier this year with Holes, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and Dumb and Dumberer, i totally loved his character in this movie. A fast talking, cynical teenager who has the hots for his buddies siter :) sounds like me a couple years ago.
Albeit, there are some typical elements in this movie, just like any other 'coming of age' or 'realization' teenage movie, the love interest, the girl who likes the lead character but hes too occupied in other stuff to notice, the bully, the disfunctional parents, the list goes on, but they seemed to deal with that stuff in a different way in this movie.
At a brisk pace of like 1 hr and 17 minutes, i was never bored, and the film kept me entertained.
6/10
P.S. - Shirri Appleby is hot
P.P.S - Amy Smart is hotter
