I know this is falling on def ears but their should be a production warning on all movies. Something like
WARNING!
This movie has been splashed with big names that really haven't done shit to the movie. If you like the names we have splashed good, just don't expect any contrIbutions from them in this steaming peice of shit called a movie.
I am trying to create my own list of movies that were a huge let down that advertised great directors/producers/actors. if you can recall some of you own please post them here.
peace-out

How about "Wes Craven Presents: Dracula 2000".
Or "Wes Craven Presents: Wishmaster".
Or maybe "Wes Craven Presents: They".

Is this only related to horror movies or can we include others, such as Gilgli (or however the fuck you spell it - no one cares, though, because no one went to see it!) Ben Affleck should have stuck to movies like Dazed and Confused and Mall Rats. Ughh! And Pearl Harbor, for all the hype, sucked donkey balls as well!

I can't think of any movies off the top of my head but that does suck when that happens.

Just watched one the other day, it's called "Alice, Sweet Alice"
While not a bad film (I actually liked it a lot) they sure did whore out Brooke Shields name. It says it on the front, and they plastered a huge pic of her on the back even though she's in the flick for all of 10 minutes.
Oh well, she's not great and the movie wasn't bad, but it's just an example of exploiting someone's name

How about Wes Craven Presents Carnival Of Souls.
From the director of [blank] comes a new breed of horror. There's so many of those.

I've seen a lot of movies that have something that looks like its a quote from a review "Action packed stunts! The Thriller of the year!" and then its not actually a quote from someone, the company just slapped it on to make it look like someone gave it a good review.

I don't know if this is quite what you're looking for but Bela Lugosi was casted in Plan 9 from Outer Space but then died three days after filming started. They just used another actor - covered his head with a cape lol - but still said it was Lugosi.

Yes, but Plan 9 From Outer Space was hilarious.

No, finding out that 'They' has the lamest attachment to Wes Craven is the most hilarious. What was he, anyways? An advisor? I don't know, but it was something so significant and when the movie boasts the only cool thing about it was that Craven was involved, you know the movie blows.

tuwhitt_ I must start off by saying I love your avatar...it had me laughing my ass off...
Secondly, I know this is in the wrong forum and will probably get moved soon, but I have seen this on HEAPS of DVD and video covers...you know where they have a quote from a review of the movie...something like "Suspenseful and scary..." - Dave Wilson - Entertainment Bi-Monthly...or something to that effect. Nine times out of ten I have NEVER heard of ANY of those publications that these reviews were supposedly written for and I am SURE they make 90% of that crud up.
And yeah...'ol Wes is good at whoring his name out. Carnival of Souls was the biggest piece of crap...It scarred me so that I am scared to watch the original.

Craven is definitely the ultimate name-whoring master with many films bearing his name but the fact is that he had nothing to with (insert movie). It's rather annoying but I live with it.

This is better suited to the General Horror Talk forum, so I'm moving it there......... :)

I agree.
The worst movies that he "presentes" are the ones where he was executive producer not director. "Dracula2000, Wishmaster, The Outpost." I don't know how great his involvement is though.
I can live with it too because he gave us Freddy.
