The plot: Surfers and secret spots from around the world are profiled in this documentary.

The non-fiction juggernaut continues this summer, as Step Into Liquid follows Winged Migration, Capturing the Friedmans and Spellbound to local theatres.

That's the only entry point I've got to this movie. I don't surf, preferring not to recreate in non-chlorinated water. But, if grooving in saltwater is your thing, here you go. But isn't this movie just Endless Summer with a fresh paint job?

Anyway, Step Into Liquid is doing well in limited release; its opening weekend per screen average was $27,197, and it's so far grossed $419,000 at 16 venues.

Saw some of this being touted on CNN. The surf footage is incredible but methinks it's been done before (just not as glossy). I doubt I'd pay to see it in a theater (not like it would come to my area anyway), but maybe on video (probably not, though).

My roommate is a surfer. He is "stoked" to see it because of the incredible cinematography.

Critical Acclaim has been pretty high. If you like extreme sports, then you should probably see this film. If you do not like them, then you should probably avoid this film.

This is different than all the other surfing films because this is a documentary. To the best of my knowledge, they did not try to tack an unbelievable storyline to it. Methinks that it is more about the sport of surfing rather than the characters that are in it.

If you like surfing doc's, let me suggest you pick up 'Dog Town and Z-Boys'. It's about the skate-surf scene in the 70's and 80's in the Californian neighbourhood colourfully nick-named 'Dog Town'.
