I read the book In Harm's Way. This book was about the tragic USS Indianapolis. The boat that delivered the bomb for Hiroshima and the one that Quinton talks about in Jaws. Anyways I thought I read somewhere a while back they were thinking about making this movie with Harrison Ford attached. Just wondering if anybody heard any thing about this. I think it would make a great movie.

They made a decent TV movie out of it back around '91, called 'Mission of the Shark.' It stars Stacy Keach as Capt. Charles McVay, Richard Thomas, and a pre-NYPD Blue David Caruso, who figures prominently on the current video box cover. Pretty good re-enactment of the events, including those following the rescue.
Worth a rental for history buffs.

I've heard off and on rumors of a film being made, one time with Mel Gibson, though I've always thought it would make a great movie if done right
