we all see em on tv...trailers for movies come on like every other commercial..but my question is this...r they really neccesary? i mean some trailers have spoiled the BEST parts of a movie..i know its not horror but look at american pie 2....i mean the whole "super glue" scene was plastered over the trailer..and when the scene came on in the theatre..no one even stiffled a laugh..i mean it just spoiled the theatre experience..and i know such things have happened to horror as well...jeepers creepers 2 has already given away some REAL good scary parts (scarecrow moving its head) and now when they come on in the movie..no ones gonna flinch..i mean does anyone else out there see that trailers are spoiling some good movies? i mean shit if they just gave the title out alot more ppl might go buy tickets...cuz sometimes trailers make movies look shitty..but who knows...this is just a random thought..tel me what u think

Hey,

Well I think Trailers/TV Spots on cool when the movie is released on VHS/DVD. But sometimes they do give out way too much info, but I guess they have to advertise, thats why I saw TV Spots are better.

I think a if a movie reveals its best qualities in a trailer it was never that good to begin with.

Yeah, trailers can ruin a movie. Often it`s just better to go in not knowing anything. Like with Final Destination. Everybody knew that he`s gonna see the plane go down and he`ll save some people who`re gonna get tracked down by death, but I imagine if I hadn`t known it, the scenes and plot development would`ve moved me more. And sometimes the trailers may look cool, but when they`re shown too often or you`ve just seen them too many times, you loose interest in the movie. Like, I was never really excited about The Hulk, but I was just going to see it to get it over with. Though the trailer had some really pathetic cgi action in it, it kinda got me hyped to see it. Now that it finally got out, I`ve seen the damn trailer so many times that I`m not going to see that movie. I just have no interest in it at all.

Depends, i never watch previews for films i want to see because they always have the best parts or scenes from the end of the film but if its something ive never heard of or wasn't interested to in to start with then they're a good thing
