Hi, like many other Mulholland Drive fans, I was disappointed by David Lynch's decision to censor Laura Harring during the lovemaking scene; it killed the mood and atmosphere. My question is: will there be an unrated version where the blur will be absent? WB with speculation and news. Thanks!

Just for a split-second pussy shot? Doubtful...very doubtful.

It's not only that, I was looking for more special effects. After I saw it, I left, thinking to myself, "Wow, David Lynch has really outdone himself this time. I know the DVD is going to be packed with extra specials, commentaries, photo galleries, behind-the-scenes, and bizarre, hidden features." Now, to my disappointment, there is only a trailer, not even scene selection (which I never use, so I don't care, but honestly, what DVD is lacking scene selection?)

Actually, the lack of scene selection was intentional. David Lynch didn't was viewers to watch the scenes in the order they want; it's sort of the same thing with Memento. Some people use the scene selection to watch the events in chronological order, thereby lessening the impact of the film. Lynch didn't want to same thing with Mulholland.

Actually, it's not just this particular film- he just doesn't like it period (he commented on it in "The Straight Story" packaging). Both "The Straight Story" and "The Elephant Man" lack Scene Selection, and while "Fire Walk With Me" shows scene changes when it's playing, there's no actual option in the Main Menus for it.
As for the subject at hand, don't count on it, but I'd at least like to hear from the actors on the film.

That's what I'd like to know. I'm hoping an unrated version will come out. David Lynch should've left it untouched to begin with.

I think Laura Herring asked that he blur her front. I for one hated MD when i first saw it, but after another viewing I like it a bit more--however, David Lynch is an ass who doesn't appreciate his fans or want to put together a good DVD for those who enjoy his work.
In regards to this issue here is a statement from Lynch himself:
"WE DID THAT BLURRING FOR THE DVD ON PURPOSE AS WE KNEW THAT PICTURES OF LAURA WOULD BE EVERYWHERE IF WE DIDN'T. FIRST - IF THE SHOT IS TIMED CORRECTLY YOU SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TELL ONE BIT IF LAURA'S PUBIC HAIR HAS BEEN BLURRED - THIS PROBABLY MEANS SOME VIEWERS ARE EXPERIMENTING TO SEE LAURA'S PUBIC HAIR AND MORE ..... THIS IS WHY THE PICTURE WAS BLURRED - I PROMISED LAURA THAT I WOULD TRY TO PROTECT HER AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND TOLD HER SHE WOULD REMAIN A BEAUTIFUL SILLOUETTE AGAINST THE WARM LIGHT COMING IN THROUGH THE CURTAINS."
