Author Meg Cabot talked with Moviehole and revealed that the film version of "The Princess Diaries" sequel is coming together - "Garry Marshall, Julie Andrews, Hector Elizondo, Anne Hathaway, and Heather Matarrazzo will be back for sure. Filming begins in November. They're still casting for love interests for Princess Mia and Lilly. Robert Schwartzman-Carmine will not be returning as Michael as he is busy with his very successful band Rooney, and as the movie is taking place in Genovia, the Mandy Moore/Erik von Deten characters will not be returning either. The 2nd movie won't be following the plots of my books, so though the two Princess Mia universes will be diverging far from one another with this film, I think the film will still be super cute". I liked the first a little, a sequel might be okay. I'm not against it or anything but it's just not something I look forward to seeing.

I liked the first mostly for Julie Andrews! I love this lady and though the santized pace and it was rated G...
:rolleyes: I hope this movie goes PG instead.
The scence where Moore was yelling back at Hataway who got even w/ her made me wanna scratch a chalkboard.:D

The first film was rather bland, but not awful by any means. Mild entertainment. I'd go see the second one, but, like 'DevilMonkey,' I'm not highly-anticipating it at all.

The first one was decent (7/10) and I own it on DVD. I would definetely see the sequel.
