I really like this "Halloween" movie too. It sells out story-wise, but it is very entertaining on its own.
I like to think though that after Mikey met up with Laurie at the asylum, he was only staying at home for a little for a break, and of course, that's when he sees his home being used for "reality TV" stint (which, I think is clever set-up and worked out better than all of the "reality TV" programs on TV ever for that matter.
The characters were decently developed, I think, and I did kind of feel scared for them.Michael was one scary dude here.
As for Busta Rhymes, I didn't mind him. Thing is, this movie needed an egotistical character to run the stint at Michael's home, and honestly, who is more egotistical than the Busta?! Of all things, I fournd his acting fine (he was being himself, really. In real-life, he's a egotistical rap star; here, he's an egotistical internet enterpruener (sp?). His antics with Mikey was a little over the top, but it does not seriously damage by any means.
Otherwise, as flawed as the storyline has become since H20 (all about these last two "Halloween" flicks disregarding H4-6 and creating storyholes and condricting plotholes within the series), it can be corrected, so unlike some "Halloween" fans, I'm not automatically going to diss "Resurrection" for disregarding H4-6.
I give it 3 out 4.

I really didn't think they could top H20 in over-all crappiness....But Busta Rhymes proved me wrong.

Halloween9 won't be out for a while...like two years probably...maybe one. This one is Halloween 8.(Yes, they should have ended it at H20. The series is obviously dead anyway...hopefully they end it in Halloween 9.
I just thought this was okay. Definitly not as good as the first or H20.

I love HR. Everytime I watch it, I'm always thinking maybe I won't like it, it's just a good movie.
Doesn't touch H20 though..

HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION **1/2
http://i.imdb.com/Photos/Ss/0220506/h8_rs111alt.jpg
I had fun watching this movie. H20 was much better and had a kickass ending to both the movie and the series. But money is good these days, so they had to make this pathetic excuse for a Halloween movie. It's a very bad movie, but I did have fun watching it. Michael Myers looked really scary, the kills were good, the house was creepy, the reality show thing wasn't that bad and gave the movie a cool atmosphere. The characters and acting sucked. Busta...What the fuck was he doing here? He ruined the movie, or at least he made it worse. The same goes to the very good looking but very poor actress Tyra Banks, when she was drinking the cofee and dancing was so pathetic. Sara (Bianca Kajlich) was good, but I didn't like her much. My fav. character was Donna, the smart chick, only because I thought she was hotter than the rest. The other actors sucked too...But the brilliant opening sequence, and like I said, some good kills, creepy atmosphere and a creepy Michael Myers made the movie. It wasn't very good, but it wasn't that bad either. Just a fun movie to watch, and better than most Halloween sequels.

Umm, isn't HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION the only film in the series since H2O? If so, isn't it the best in the series since H2O by default?

2.5/5...As a braindead slasher, it's somewhat fun, but as a Halloween entry, it's tepid bile that cashes in on an exasperating trend (reality TV). The characters are mundane, Busta is a joke, and Michael Myers is no longer a distinct villain. At least Rosenthal keeps the mood bleak, the pace fluid, and the kills messy. Better than H20, but any run-of-the-mill "hack 'em up" entree would have been.

HALLOWEEN 8 (I don't even want to refer to it by its "real" title) is, in my opinion, the worst of the series.
And this is coming from a huuuuge HALLOWEEN series fan (one that can still recognize the numerous flaws of the franchise).

now its exactly what YOU said...my veins were popping out at the release of another halloween and how excited i was, which was the first mistake i guess...the second feeling was leaving the theater cold, angry, sad, pissed and wanting to cry all in the same night.
by the way, shouldn't this be in horror reviews or past horror movies (hate to be the dick who mentions Shouldnt it be somewhere else...but...)

Halloween Resurrection (2002)
Directed by: Rick Rosenthal
Plot: Michael has survived his beheading in the end of H20 and returns home, after finishing some business, and finds a bunch of teens snooping around his house during a webcast. Kill kill kill. Die. Die. Die.
Now, H20 was, in my opinion, the best sequel, and it ended the series perfectly! But, being the large draw that it was, a sequel was destined. Now, I was worried from the get-go, but I had some hope for it. Then the trailer came out and it looked really good. I saw it and, being the huge fan I am, I loved it, especialy the beginning. But then, after the shock wore off, I realized, this sequel was not worth giving up the great closure that H20 gave. I was dissapointed. The only thing I still love was the opening with Jamie, she is just amazing(along with the scene). But anyway, I think, there is light at the end of the tunnel. With Halloween 8, there will be more Halloweens (which is mostly always a good thing) that will hopefully really rock and hopefully stop at like 9 or possibly 10. But by then, please stop. No use beating a dead horse to pulp.
Overall: 6.5/10

H20 ended the series P E R F E C T L Y and this peice of shit comes along...
...its not enough that Ressurection was the worst Halloween movie ever, its that it didnt ever try to do ANYTHING other then be a sad cash in for dimension. For me the series is over, i got off the train after H20.
My score for it is 3/10. After the first 10 minutes of the movie u no longer have any reason to watch.

I wouldnt say H20 was the PERFECT ending...it ended it good, and could have been the end,i'd be fine with that but,it was far from PERFECT.

I watched it today and it was very very bad because :
No suspense at all
I don't care about the characters at all !!
really too smooth
no energy at all
bad murder scenes
what the hell is this thing with Busta Rymes !!! I mean he asks Michael too leave and what does he do ?? he just goes !!! what the fuck is that !!!
Busta and his kung fu !!
Poor acting
Sorry but Jason 10 is much more fun than this crappy movie !

This was basically an average slasher flick. I admired the slick directing and production values, but little else. Jamie Lee Curtis's cameo is easily the film's best scene. The rest isn't even recognizably a Halloween flick, save for the presence of Michael Myers.
I'd give it a 2/5.

Halloween Ressurection... The entry that destroyed the original characters completely... 4 out of 10!!!
Lori Strode goes out in such a piss poor way it makes me sick... I mean come on... If she was going out, she should have went out in a kick ass way... Lame!!! Not the way you treat a smart character who has survived 23 years...
A good point... Michael himself is pretty good and seems like himself mostly... I thought the Michael of H20 was truly horrible...
Bad point: This movie does not feel like Halloween at all... There is absolutely no atmosphere... Even H5 and H6 had a Halloween feel to them... This movie like H20 could have happened any day of the year and I would have never known the difference...
Good Point: There was an excellent opening that showed home footage of the Myers family in the test version... Unfortunately, this was removed from the final print... Why exactly??? It was one of the best scenes the movie had to offer and provided a glimpse at some backstory... This scene would have been more appropriate for H20 seeing as that movie focused on Lauri...
Good Point: The first 10 minutes are decent, but not great... There are some signs of suspense at least...
But, once Lauri is on the roof, the movie tanks and does not come get any better until the end credits...
A slap in the face to anyone who followed this series pre-Scream days...
