I'm looking forward to seeing GOSFORD PARK for myself despite many movie fans (especially on this site) not liking it very much. Here is what davisdvd.com had to say about the DVD:
Universal, now controlling video distribution for USA Home Video (dissolved earlier this month), has set a June 25th release for Robert Altman's Gosford Park.
Look for a 16x9 transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, audio commentary with Director Robert Altman, deleted scenes, a behind-the-scenes featurette and more extras to be announced soon.

Excellent, I never got a chance to see it at the cinemas, but I managed to get a copy on VCD and I liked the film a lot. Can't wait for the DVD release.

Yea, but the only thing that sucks about it is that it comes out on the same day that Best Picture WINNER A BEAUTIFUL MIND does, which I'll be buying.

I don't know if i'll be buying it or not...certainly not that date since i'm buying abm then...
but the first time i saw the film it threw me off a bit, and i didn't really like it --but it was mainly due to the fact that i was expecting a murder mystery, not a "comedic satire" (tho that's not exactly how I'd put it, i can't think of any other way to describe it)...
the second time i saw it however, i did like it a lot more (but didn't end up loving it or anything like that)

Oh, that's good that you liked it. I'm looking forward to seeing it. At first, I didn't want to even before reading reviews from like JoBlo and that because it didn't look interesting to me. Now it does, I dunno why though.

Yeah, almost 90% of the time, I agree with Joblo, but in this one instance, I think I have to disagree with him...
tho i admit it is a very arthousy (is there such a word??) type of film that i can see a lot of people not liking...(and can understand why)
but even if you don't like the film, it has amazing direction, and if (whenever) you watch the film, you can see how everything interacts and clicks with each other...
especially how the above stairs and below stairs interact...very neat
this is again, offtopic, but this is torturous waiting for The Others and A Beautiful Mind (my fav movies this year along with Moulin Rouge, Memento and Ghost World) to come out on dvd...sigh...another month/2 months to go..................

Wow, THE OTHERS and A BEAUTIFUL MIND were my two favorite movies of last year. Both get 10/10s.
