I am a big fan of the film and me and my buddy have been thinking about buying the no frills disc but have been hesitant because we've been hearing quite alot about a special edition. So when is the special edition coming out? Does anyone have any info on the special features(hopfully the laserdisc commentary)?

I too am waiting for an SE, the regular edition has been discontinued here in the UK so I have no choice but to wait! The news about a SE has been floating about for quite a while but as of yet nobody knows any details to my knowledge other than "sometime in 2002" but I think I heard mentioned summer but surely details would have been released by now...
