Or am I a person who doesn't get very excited during car chase scenes or crashes? I never feel any excitement when I see a car chase or crash. I think the only things that have given me anything in excitement are The Blues Brothers,T3,Final Destination 2 and the My Favourite Game musice video by the Cardigans. I'm just curious if anyone is like me with car chases. Also name some movies with great car chase scenes.

Damn...That has to be one of my favorites this year!

I like car chases and crashes. I guess I like to see very expensive cars get ruined...Like in Fast and the Furious. Or the huge cop car scene in The Blues Brothers.

I love car chases!!!! I get a slight adrenaline rush on the good ones. The original Gone in 60 Seconds, that was the shit. My dad bought a '73 Mach 1 after that movie came out. I remember seeing that on video along time ago. The car chase in The Rock was cool too. There are many others..

Dude, are you serious?! How can you NOT like films with car crashes and explosions?? That's what cinema is all about.

Yeah the sequence at the start of Final Destination 2 was total badass, unfortunately the rest of the film was pretty boring (*spoiler* save for that retarded kid getting squashed while chasing pigeons *end spoilers*).

Some other classic badass car chases are Ronin, French Connection, and Bullit. Personally I love all the chases and explosions in Speed, and you even get an exploding airplane too just for good measure. I think most films would be a lot better if there were more car chases that ended in explosions and fire.

The only time they got the concept wrong was in the sucky Charlie's Angels because it was stupid and the wrong person died. I think Cameron Diaz should have driven off the bridge instead and died and then a giant robot lizard should have come along and eaten the other two Angels and then a bus with a bomb onboard (freshly evacuated by Keanu Reeves) should have driven into the giant robot lizard and exploded. Then some dragons awaken from the sounds of the explosion, and come up to the surface of the planet and breathe fire on everyone and take over the world. End of film. (Reign of Fire should have been called Charlie's Angels 2: Reign of Fire). You telling me that wouldn't have ruled and made it a good film?

Not all my non-drug-induced fantasies are to do with dragons and people getten eaten. I like to write screenplays in my spare time (I just saw the forums, expect my awesome ideas to be made public soon), and I have even delved into the rom-com genre. The idea is that my 16year-old brother meets Avril Lavigne at Avril High School and they fall in love despite LOADS of obstacles and distractions. It's called Avril Fools. I might write "Charlie's Angels 2: Reign of Fire" later this month.

Hmmm, I guess it would be a combination of too many zombie films, falling in love and idolising Arnold Schwarzenegger at a remarkably young age, and thinking He-Man was real until I was in my late-teens. It all adds up to my tastes in films.

I know a lot of people prefer to see kissing in films, or dorky kids flying around on brooms, but I've always preferred seeing explosions and guns and fire and stuff, it makes every film that little bit better (refer to my Charlie's Angels rewrite for how that could have been good).

And thank you syxxpac, I'm glad you appreciate my warped imagination :)

The only car chase scene I TRULY liked was in THE FRENCH CONNECTION, other than that I'm not up for car chase scenes or crashes AT ALL. IMO they're just trying to get you excited but nope, it hardly ever works for me, instead it bores me and I really don't see what's exciting about them. In fact, most movies with a lot of action, dragons, swords, etc. are just completely not my taste, they suck (films like Terminator and LOTR are exceptions though).

Oh man! I love car chases! Foot chases! Car explosions! Car stunts! It's all good to me. The highway chase scene in Bad Boys II blew my mind.

Amen to that brother! That French Connection scene rules! Anywho, no car chase scene don't amuse me or anything like that. And TZA if you think only movies with fire and violence and stuff are good, then you have no idea what a good film is. Not to insult you, it's your opinion, I'm just saying that there is so much more to cinema than violence and effects.

I don't care really. Sometimes they can make a movie funer, or dumber. The best car crash ever is the one in ADAPTATION. It scared the shit out of me, it was too real.

I would agree that this is the only car chase scene that has ever done anything for me also. All the others I just find so commonplace that they frankly bore me at this point.

I think we got a lot of really good car/vehicle chase scenes this summer. Terminator 3's crane chase was the best though it is very closely followed by the freeway chase scene in The Matrix Reloaded. But The Italian Job, 2 Fast 2 Furious and Hollywood Homicide all had great chase scenes as well. However, Bad Boys II has the worst. Seeing the film a second time, especially after the top notch Terminator 3, has made me realize how sloppy the action scenes are and how poorly directed the action sequences are. Especially at the end when they are driving away from the bad guys mansion.

Of coarse the movie with the best car chases is Ronin. But I haven't seen Bullitt or The French Connection, but I want to.

You're not alone dude, car chases generally just involved recycled stunts that have been done in every film since Bullitt. I've seen exactly three exciting car chases in my life: the ones in Bullitt, French Connection, and Ronin. Other than loving Knight Rider as a kid I can't say most of them have lived up to the hype. As far as crashes...it depends. I don't have anything against them, and I like them when they're done in a good way, but I hate it when they do it just because all of these idiots in the world go to movies for no other reason than to see things explode.

Good car chase scenes:

Gone in 60 Seconds (New and original)
Ronin
Blues Brothers
The Rock
The Transporter
The Italian Job
Matrix: Reloaded
T3
Bourne Identity
Lethal Weapon 4
Mad Max
Sword Fish
Bad Boys One and Two
and some of the Bond movies have some good ones too.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but some good car chases for sure:D

LOL nah they're not the only films I like, but I just get a kick out of them and can watch them over and over. I mean I love some non-shit films like Fargo or Lost Highway or The Pledge or something, but I'm always gonna be a geek for shit like Commando (10/10 by the way) and Friday the 13th movies.

But on topic, I've seen the classic French Connection and Bullit, but I still think the best chases were in Ronin.

I was quite excited about the car chase in RONIN but that was five years ago and I haven't seen anything nearly as good ever since.

Most of the time, I hate car chases. They don't excite me in the least, and they usually drag on for too long. However, there is one car chase scene that I loved, which is of course, the one in The French Connection.

Though I haven't seen it myself, I heard To Live and Die in L.A. has an excellent car chase. Thankfully, MGM is releasing this later this year...

My lack of interest in cars computes into a lack of interest in car chases/crashes...I dig Ronin and Gone in sixty seconds tho...Ronin has some awesome chases, but then again Jean Reno is in em so that effects my opinion greatly.....:D
