Okay, neon genesis evangelion is easily one of the best manga's and animes ever created, and if u havnt seen it u must! im asking a question and if u dont know how the series ends i highly recommend that u do not read the folowing question, and probably the rest that follows....and if you do the WHOLE series and movies will be RUINED for you!
*********SPOILERS***********
Okay, in the movie death and rebirth (and the series) why do the angels go down to what most ppl think is Adam when it is truly Lilith? If they kno that lilith is down there how can they not know about adam on ikari's hand?
****END SPOILERS*****
You're assuming the Angels know that it's actually Lilith in Terminal Dogma. I don't think this is true. Even Kaworu thought he was returning to Adam, only when he got there did he discover the truth . Since Adam is imbedded into Gendoh's hand, I guess that the Angels can only detect its presence and can't actually pinpoint where.

Indeed. It was less perplexing the second time around. Although, I still wasn't sure why Shinji was doing that to Asuka at the end. Had to read up on the official reason why he did that.

Saw it in store first time in a while and staright away picked it up and got it, and i love it, and the only thing that bothered me about the orginal series ending was that it kinda put everything that happend in the series as a waste...but as usual i have a question, and i wouldnt be suprised if once again i missed something but here i go...

If Seele was trying to make thrid impact and "combine" everyone together in the first place, why did they send those swat (or wateva they were) to go in and destory the nerv h.q. and the ppl, or was that someone else who sent them in?
END SPOILERS****
and please share what you thought about the movie and it to the series originaly made ending.
Indeed, SEELE did send in JSSDF, Japan's Strategic Self Defense Force, to shut down NERV. This is because Gendoh wanted to pursue his own selfish plan rather than accomplishing SEELE's Instrumentality/Human Complementation Project. Gendoh wanted to use Rei and reunite himself with Yui. He couldn't care less about complementing mankind's void and achieving a "perfect existence."
As for the endings, I like to think that they complement each other. Offering a more solid, fullfilling finale as a whole, rather than if it were simply one or the other. Showing the psychological and physical conclusion to this epic story.

Yea true,
also the commentary track on the dvd is superb stuff, it has some insights that i would have never thought of, and is an addition not to miss out on!
And SLim, why did shinji choke asuka, was it cause of him choking her b4 or beacause he was just lettin out anger??? And do you think the theory that asuka in the end is the combination of her, misato and rai cuz her eyes are brown and not blue?

The definitive answer to this question is found in the Eva Carddass Masters Trading Cards. Which are overseen by Gainax and considered canon. It states that:
"Shinji renounced the world where all hearts had melted into one and accepted each other unconditionally. His desire... to live with 'others' -- other hearts that would sometimes reject him, even deny him. That is why the first thing he did after coming to his senses was to place his hands around Asuka's neck. To feel the existence of an 'other'. To confirm (make sure of) rejection and denial."
The scene is meant to be an affirmation of Shinji's decision to return to reality, where pain once again exists. He's basically testing if he's actually back in the real world.
As for the Asuka question, I do believe that is really her in the end. The lighting of that particular scene effects the color of her eyes, making them appear darker, but not red or brown. Further proof is found in the trading cards:
"In the sea of LCL, Shinji wished for a world with other people. He desired to meet them again, even if it meant he would be hurt and betrayed. And just as he had hoped/wanted, Asuka was present in the new world. Only Asuka was there beside him. The girl whom he had hurt, and who had been hurt by him. But even so, she was the one he had hoped/wished for...."

ak, so it's just her and he choked her to make sure he was back in reality...lol atleast this isnt as weird like the thrid impact.

I always figured he choked her because he was still a little traumatized by the scene in Misato's apartment where he strangles her after she rejects his plea for help (and let's face it, weren't there times for all of us that we just wanted to throttle that little harpy? ;) ). God, that scene was intense! Some of the voice actors' best work.
MORE SPOILERS!!!
A friend of mine seems to believe that a Shinji/Rei ending would have been more plausible than Shinji/Asuka....Something to do with the fact that because Rei is a clone of Shinji's mother, that strengthens the emotional bond between them, and thus the potential romantic bond. Morally, it's certifiably weird (the child gettin' it on with a young clone of his mother?), but it does make a good bit of sense. I still think Shinji and Asuka together makes more sense, since their childhoods were so much alike, and therefore they compliment one another perfectly.

Yea, i can see the shinji/rei thing too, but it does fit better that asuka is there, plus i read somewhere that he had feelings for her (even tho i didnt see it enough in the series).
