I'm sure that there are people here who aren't completely anti-mainstream(I've met people like that)although I noticed how some people didn't say much on it so I decided to make a thread for it. What songs that are very mainstream and the such that you like? I like many. Here are some:

Miss Independant by Kelly Clarkson
main tune in Crazy In Love(everything sucks except that tune-funny part is that it's from another song)
Hey Ya by Outkast
I like a bit of Sam Roberts and Chantel Kreviazuk
Going Under by Evanescence

I have much much more but that's all I can think of right now.

Definitely Overload by the Sugababes... a damn fine pop song.

I also kinda liked Sound of the Underground by the tarts of Girls Aloud. Very catchy tune... too catchy, actually. Earlier this year, they played it every morning on the radio and I couldn't get it out of my head. Buggers!

Get Ur Freak On by Missy Elliot and Robbie William's The Road to Mandalay were also decent songs.

In all of their bland glory...

Tearing up my Heart ~ Nsync
Crazy in Love (just the background) ~ Beyonce
Oops, I Did it Again ~ Britney Spears
Show me the Meaning of Being Lonely ~ Backstreet Boys

I'm going to have some sort of ancient torture method practiced on me, I can feel it.

I think most of Britney Spear's stuff is pretty catchy.

And some of Avril Lavigne's.

Does Madonna's Die Another Day song (obviously from the movie) count as pop? If so then I liked that one too.

I really can't say that there is anything to like about "mainstream manufactured pop music" it is whats ruining music right now which has been on the decline in terms of quality, I think the problem is that all the MTV/TRL type songs and cd's are just rushed out to the public to make a quick buck and i know this is gonna sound stupid bought it 's almost like an insult to the listeners to pay 15.00 for a cd thats why file sharing has gotten way outta control.

A few songs though that aren't all that bad

Pharell "Frontin"
actually thats it

Well, I liked some of Avril's stuff, but generally, I'm completely and utterly anti-mainstream for music.

I must admit that Justin Timberlake's "Like I Love You" has a good beat to it.

So does Christina Aguilera's "Dirrty".

And if Evanescence counts as pop, then add "Going Under" to that list.

That's about it.

I'll g'head and add Liz Phair's "Why Can't I" to the list.

I'm so damn against pop music but once in a blue moon there's a song that i liek ti and it kills me a little inside :(
such as
Brittany Spearts - Toxic (what the hell.....her last song, i think me against the music, is probably the worst thign i've heard in a while, but this one is pretty damn great)
I like some of madonna's poppy stuff like express yourself and vogue, but they still don't compare to her less-mainstream releases such as Bedtime Stories and Erotica which are my 2 fav songs by her, however i hate anything from 1996 on (well Paradise is decent)

Take That - Back for good is a pretty catchy song altho it's pretty old
I don't know if you'd consider Nick Cave & Kylie Minogue - where the wild roses grow as a pop song but thats one damn fine song
and i also liek osme of those funny "party" sogns like
inner circle - sweat

one_crow_sorrow

I'm really, really liking Kylie Minogue's Red Blooded Woman right now.

Hopefully they don't overplay it too much...Maybe I'll just avoid those particular radio stations most guilty of that to make it easier for me.
