The films on the poll are the major ones that, in the movie game tournaments forum, if any films goes up against them, no matter how great the film might be, they always lose to Fight Club, The Shawshank Redemption, Psycho, The Silence of the Lambs, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and Schindler's List. So which film in you guys' opinion is the best out of those?

Psycho. Out of all those movies, Psycho is the only one I can watch more than once or twice, and shows Hitchcock at his peak

I have to give the slight edge to The Silence of the Lambs, closely followed by Psycho. Schindler's List and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest are also excellent. Fight Club and The Shawshank Redemption are good but nothing extraordinary.

Although I do absolutely love it, I don't hold it in the same kind of "sliced bread" esteem that much of the board does, so I surprised myself when I realized Fight Club was my top pick, but that's mostly since all of these movies are a wee bit overrated around here.

I'd say Schindler's List, and it's on my list in the top 10 greatest american films of all time. If I had to rank them I'd pretty much go with Hannibal's list. The only change I would make would be to flipflop Psycho with Silence of the Lambs. I think Psycho was much more influential, and the direction superior.

Agreed, but replace "One of the 10 best films of all time" with THE best film of all time, and you'd be dead on.

I was tempted to vote for Fight Club, since that is a brilliant film, but OFOTCN has withstood the test of time. Let's see where FC stands in a few years, and then maybe I'll regard it as a classic.

I know what you mean dude. I've pretty much given up on it. I've found that the voting on here doesn't have as much to do with how great a movie is, as it does with how popular it is.

I agree. I mean, I think Schindler's List is one of the greatest films of all time and Fight Club.....is just meh, it sure doesn't come close to Spielberg's masterpiece IMO.
