FILM
1. Vaughan Cunningham in SLING BLADE
2. Josh in PANIC
3. Zach in SKIN DEEP
4. Stanley Grubman in TADPOLE
5. Ban Hanscom in STEPHEN KING’S "IT"
6. Rider in THE OTHER
7. Franklin Frank in NICKELODEON
8. Chief Warren Kincaid in THE BRIDE OF CHUCKY
TELEVISION
1. Jack Tripper in THREE’S COMPANY
2. John Hartman in HEARTS AFIRE
3. Det. Harry Hooperman in HOOPERMAN
I haven’t yet seen NOISES OFF, STAY TUNED or the PROBLEM CHILD flicks, and I never caught one episode of
8 SIMPLE RULES. Ritter totally surprised me with his two best roles ever…as a Southern gay man in SLING BLADE, and a harried shrink in PANIC. I also admired his work in two quirky yet critically-praised television series...HOOPERMAN and HEARTS AFIRE. I grew up in the 70's watching THREE'S COMPANY, so he'll always be goofy would-be stud Jack Tripper to me. Definitely more of a television actor than film star, but Ritter’s sincerity and comic genius will be sorely missed.
