Melbourne rock band with a kicking full debut album*, Get Born (2003), which was produced by Dandy Warhols’ producer Dave Sardy.
They're named after a Wings song (from the 1973 Band On The Run album), and are heavily influenced by classic rock sounds (The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Kinks) and AC/DC in their more rockin' songs. So, nothing newish, but banging riffs and roaring vocals make it hard not to sit still to 'em, I tells ya!
The tracks are slightly over-produced, which is a shame, coz the lads rough voices are part of what I like about them. They're 'the shit' live. They start a US/UK tour opening this weekend, and I highly recommend you toddle along if you get a chance.
I'm sure you lot have heard of them, as there's a fair amount of hype (so there's sure to be a fair amount of critisism).
Tour dates and a great little bio on their official site (http://www.jettheband.com)
* - they've first release was a 4-track EP, called Dirty Sweet (any T-Rex fans? ;))
