I've been listening to the debut album from New York band The Rapture for a number of days now and it gets better with every listen. It's fusion of techno and rock dynamics is one of the most successful unions between these two genres that i've had the pleasure of experienceing. The lead singer sounds not unlike Robert Smith of The Cure at times and the music is a mixture of eighties/early nineties electronica and indie rock. This is a truly stunning collection of songs. The opening "Olio" kicks in and from thereon in it's good times right up until the closing "Infatuation". Honestly...this has been such a good year for music. This album is among the very best released this year. HIGHLY FUCKING RECOMMENDED!!!
