For this list please name your favorite film critics and try to name at least five. I'm hoping that this topic will help schmoes discover critics they may not have heard of. Please give the website address if you could.
1.Roger Ebert - He has a great conversational writing style that is fun to read and he knows his movies. www.suntimes.com
2.Screenit.com. I don't know the critic's name but that site has in-depth movie reviews plus a content list which is great for parents.
3.Eugen Novikov - He has a fun writing style and a well-designed site. www.filmblather.com
4.Dustin Putnam - He also has a great site layout and in-depth reviews. www.themovieboy.com
5.www.kinnopio.com All of the reviewers at kinnopio know their movies and expound on them very well at this site.

Besides Jo and The Arrow...
~ Roger Ebert (I may not always agree with him, but he has great reviews and usually knows what he's talking about)
~ All of the Schmoes (Well, no need for an explanation)
Those are really the only reviews I read on a regular basis. I read others from time to time, but whenever a review is published from these critics, I usually always read it.

I believe that's Rob Blackwelder. Cool dude with good reviews.
I like Ebert, Berardinelli, Jo/Arrow, Betty Jo Tucker, Chris Hewitt, and Nathan Shumate (the guy from Cold Fusion).

What happened to the days of Ebert bashing? I remember old threads where people would just rant on about their hatred for the man, and now people are saying that he's better than Mr.Blo?
For shame!

XvoorheesX...Ebert's most recent cancer scare, as well as his championing of genre flicks like MAY and 28 DAYS LATER...have totally redeemed him in my eyes (and I assume many of the Schmoes' eyes as well).
Yeah, I know, I'm fickle, flighty, etc.

The late Gene Siskel was the best. I like Ebert to but lost alot of respect for him after he gave Gladiator just two stars.

Why did he lose your respect for not liking that film? I give it no stars.

Roger Ebert - The guy knows his shit and his reviews are always fun to read.
James Berardinelli - Informative and intelligent critic who also knows his shit.
JoBlo/Arrow - Consistently supply witty and clever reviews from the perspective of your average Joe movie fan. And where else but Arrow In The Head will you find a review section devoted entirely to T&A? :D

Joblo and Berardinelli.
Ebert is too inconsistent for my taste. I can't trust him, even if he writes excellent reviews every once in a while.
I dig Arrow a lot, but I'm not much of a horror freak.
Folks at Variety tend to write reliable reviews.

I agree on Siskel, but about Gladiator? That movie was terrible! If anything, I have lost some respect for the man because of his picking apart of To Kill a Mockingbird, and the thumbs down for The Elephant Man, Fight Club and The Usual Suspects. Berardinelli and Joblo my favs. ;)

Ebert- the man. We mostly agree on everything. Except a few here and there.

In no particular order:
1) Roger Ebert
2) Leonard Maltin
3) Mick Martion (VIDEO & DVD GUIDE 2003-)
4) Marsha Porter (VIDEO & DVD GUIDE 2003-)
5) John Fallon (The Arrow)
*I have to mention Richard Roeper too, because I don't agree with him 80-90% of the time, but he has liked some obscure movies that I liked, that Ebert and just about everyone else disliked.
