Rocky is bad because of Stallone? Laughing my ass off, Sly did some great shit afterall!
Anyway all the movies of DiCaprio, I can't see more mediocre actor than him but some of his movies are good like A boy's life, Catch me if you can, Gangs of New York (thanks to DDLewis), Basketball Diaries...

I guess everyone has their own opinions and tastes on their defintion of good acting but in Copland Stallone put in a brilliant performance that stole the show and his turn in Rocky is also underrated. He plays the down and out bum to perfection
and Hannibal21, do you think Stanley Kubrick,Oliver Stone,PTA and Cameron Crowe would of cast Tom Cruise as their main lead if he was a bad actor?Try watching Bourn On The Fourth Of July again
Cole66,Nicholas Cage has also made some bad movies and turned in horrible performances (Face Off being one) but he was fantastic in all those films youv'e listed, if you dont like the guy then fine but he is in no way a bad actor, given the right material he is a damn good act

Would definately have to go with The Matrix - Keanu Reeves. God that man should stick to making surfer movies only!

I'm sorry but i'm still going to have to disagree. With Nicolas i always get the feeling he's acting and sometimes to a point of ruining a movie for me. He's always trying way too hard. And it shows, maybe not as much in Adaptation, but that was because he had such a strong cast (Brian Cox and Chris Cooper) to support him.
I even liked Meryl Streep this time, who i normally don't enjoy.
I wish they have gotten a different actor to play the lead in Adaptation.

Matthew McConaughey - Contact, Frailty and maybe U-571.
Vin Diesel - Saving Private Ryan
Chris Rock - Nurse Betty, Dogma
Meat Loaf - Fight Club

I'm sorry but I disagree. He has worked some great directors, yes. But that doesn't neccesarily mean that he's a good actor. I just find him to either play himself most of the time or overacting his ass off (like in Born on the Forth of July), Magnolia was the one film that he gave a truly great performance. He has been in some other movies that I like, but his performances I can do without.
Hannibal21

Matthew McConaughey - Frailty (the only performance of his that I liked)
Edward Furlong - American History X
Tobey Maguire - Wonder Boys, The Ice Storm & Pleasantville
Kirsten Dunst - Interview with the Vampire

Yeah but he can still be a bad actor in a good movie. Sometimes if the movie is really good with a great direction, it can make even a lousy actor look decent.

Yeah, but i just said that because Han didn't include Contact in the good movies Matt McC has done. I wanted to know if it was a forgetting, a misunderstanding or a dislike. We all know that Mat is a BAD actor, but we all tend to agree that Contact is good. Just that. ;)

Yep, I thought Contact was good too, also Amistad and A Time to Kill even if I hated his performances in those films. But I only listed Frailty because it's THE best film that he's been in.

He was the main role in A Time to Kill. He was in almost every scene. I don't really understand how you could like the movie if you hated his performance in it because of that.
Amistad I could understand because there was enough screen time in which he wasn't there. Ditto for Contact. But A Time to Kill?
Hannibal21

I didn't exactly love A Time to Kill, I'd give it around a 7/10 which means I simply liked it and that's MAINLY due to the story and the other actors that were in the film (Bullock, Jackson, Sutherland, etc.), NOT Matt. Without the other actors, I probably wouldn't even like it.

Eh, Encino Man is the only Pauley Shore movie I was able to stand and that was mostly for the funny stuff with Brendan Fraser's character.
Tom Green in Road Trip and Charlie's Angels, though he started to get annoying in Charlie's Angels.
Edward Furlong - Terminator 2 & American History X
Most of the actors listed here I like. But there are not too many actors I dislike.
And then there is the wierd case of Julliet Lewis. I'm not a big fan of hers and often find her annoying even though she has been in some pretty good films and even a great one (Kalifornia). But the one performance of hers that I really liked, the one movie where I felt she gave a superb performance was in The Way of the Gun. She's been adequate in a few others but she's mostly annoying.
Mathew Lillard - Dead Man's Curve & Scream. Scooby-Doo wasn't a very good movie but I actually really enjoyed his performance in that one. I like She's All That but he's AWFUL in that movie.

Kurt Russell - Bad actor, several decent movies
Val Kilmer - Bad actor, a few very good performances (this one, and Salton Sea)
Billy Bob Thornton - hit a home run with Sling Blade, has sucked in everything else
Jason Priestly -
Dana Delaney -
Bill Paxton - Fun guy, not a great actor
Michael Biehn - Same as Paxton
Some of the smaller parts were filled in with decent thespians, but the notables are mostly just bad. The planets aligned when they made this movie.

I'm not going to comment on the actors I like because it is simply a matter of opinion, though Kurt Russell was EXCELLENT in Dark Blue. But should Jason Priestly count? He had like 30 seconds of screen time.

And what about Powers Booth and Sam Elliott. Both are good actors. And Kurt Russell does not suck. He's one of the most underrated actors out there.

i think the hulk would've done alot better if they didn't have nick nolte's drunk ass in it and using an unknown actor like eric bana?..... what were they thinking ?
i think colin farell would've made a great bruce banner , as long as he got rid of the irish accent for the film
