Best Comedy this Summer

I'm just using this topic as an excuse to get people to see "The Closet" ("Le Placard"). A pure comedy (no special effects) from France. Yes, it has subtitles and is in the art house, but it will soon be remade into an American version, a la "Three Men and a Baby" and "The Birdcage". Done by the same guy as La Cage a Folles (sp?), it is even more delicious - a straight guy secretly makes his employer think he is gay in order to save his job - He does nothing else but act the way he always has, but everybody else changes. Becoming gay makes a man out of him.

If you really love movies - see this if you can.

American Pie 2 has definitly made me laugh the most so far this year. I have yet to see Rush Hour 2, but am going to once it gets off the damn drive in and into a real theater.

i havent seen any released in the movies,because i dont like going to the movies as there isnt any good movie out anymore in my opinion so i rent everything straight to video althought the exception of rush hour 2 only because my brother wanted to see it so i took him,but here are my 2 favorites-

A Knight's Tale is a comedy? It didn't look like one from the previews.

So Rush Hour 2 is the best so far. Although I haven't seen Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back yet. Other comedies I will be seeing that I am pretty sure I will like: The Curse of the Jade Scorpion, American Pie 2, Shrek, Legally Blonde, America's Sweethearts and Osmosis Jones.
Best of year: The Mexican(A-) and Heartbreakers(B+)
Note: I did not include the Mummy Returns because I consider that to be a tounge in cheek adventure movie ala Raiders of the Lost Ark. But if that would be included then it would the best of the summer and second of the year.

AP2 was the best of the summer (8/10) until I say JASBSB. I laughed every minute and I found it to be a fitting ending to the View Askewverse...IF Smith does in fact end it. while the best comedy is without a doubt "Shrek"(also the best movie of the year). the funniest would have to be "Jay and Silent Bob" (which was hilarious but not as much so as I was hoping), or "Rat Race" (which looked horrible and caught me by surprise- i was laughing throughout the entire thing)
