Have you ever known someone and then suddenly find out that they love horror as well? Well, mine's a teacher of mine.
One day my Spanish teacher got into talking about the upcoming Day of the Dead festival. Someone mentioned Casa de Muerto and he said, that reminds me of House of 1,000 Corpses.
Me: You saw that?
Him: Yeah, I thought it was really good.
Me: Really?
Him: Oh yeah, I love horror movies.
I was shocked. He was the last person I would think to love horror. But, from now on, we've been talking about Cabin Fever, Underworld, Texas Chainsaw Massacre. He even saw me reading the latest issue of Fangoria and he asked to borrow it after I was done. I gladly said yes. It was really awesome to see someone who loved horror almost as much as me.
Do you have any related stories?

Yeah, I've got a related story.
My high school film teacher (1999) found out that HALLOWEEN was my favorite movie, and told me he too had a huge passion for the horror genre (Carpenter's classic being at the top of his list as well).
Needless to say, we quickly formed a bond and to this day make independent films together (all genres...but we have made 2 horror films) long after I graduated from high school.

I am the only - one among my friends who really like the horror genre.
I don't know anyone who is interesting by the genre.

I dont have any fellow horror lovers to hang out with either. But one wierd thing that happened recently was at Walmart. I was in the DVD section and started hearing a guy say, "This is my boomstick!" I turned around and it was the worker behind the counter imitating Evil Dead to this middleaged woman with kids who was looking to buy the movie! :p

A few years ago in High School, an English teacher (not mine, but one I spoke too on occasion) professed his love for Hammer films. At the time, I had only heard of Hammer horror, but we did share a soft spot for Nosferatu. This shocked me because he was basically a religious zealot. In fact, he refused to watch R-rated films (although he maintained that he loved Rosemary's Baby...?).

My best friend is movie buff in general. I don't think he's into horror films as much as I am though.
I was at work the other day on my break and this girl who also works there started talking to me about movies. Moments later we were talking about our favorite horror movies. It was awesome. I never would of thought she liked genre.

No I never met anyone like that. I have a good friend who's a big horror friend but the rest have seen some horror movies but they aren't real big buffs about it.

One of the doctors that took care of me in the hospital, who happens to live in my apartment building, loves horror.
It's quite weird, really.
Can't picture a doctor really
loving horror.
I mean, when you're a doctor
and you see a movie called
Horror Hospital, or anything
that deals with hospitals
and doctors, do you root
for the psychos, or the patients?
More importantly, does it carry
over to your line of work?
Fluffin weird, I tells ya.

Just the other day I was in best buy in the horror section. This nice young chick was checking stuff out beside me and said, "They need to make a Puppet Master boxset." This totally moved me. Mainly because she didn't look like a movie buff at all, let alone horror. She was that "little miss goodie twoshoes" type.
Anyhow, I proceeded to tell her that they do have one but I've never seen it for sale anywhere and we got in to this deep conversation. I actually learned a few things from her. Needless to say I walked out of the store with her phone number and an evil black tooth grin on my face.
