I am a big big slasher/ giallo fan, unfortunately the giallos are very hard to find in Belgium.
I sometimes go to the second hand shops to see if there are some slashers or giallos.
It is really rare to find a giallo.
I bought House Of Exorcism from Mario Bava( 3 euros ) 3 weeks ago but it is not really a giallo.
I would give something like 40 euros for a good edition of Chopping Mall on DVD ( good edition means an audio commentary, interviews, making of, trailers, etc ... but I dream there )

Basically, if it's horror I buy it. That includes trying to find the rare and limited edition films, no matter how potentially shit they are.
Must... have... them... ALL.

I used to think that I wanted to, eventually, see every horror movie ever made.. time (and some realll stinkers) may've jaded me a little, I guess, cause I find myself being WAY more selective when I go out hunting.
I DO hunt a lot, though.. the finds I've made at second hand stores and wherever else have been just great.
Having you guys is probably THE greatest thing a horror collector can have.. seriously, I have so many movies now cause of your reccomendations.. thanks!

I'd have to say i am.
Before buying a Horror film on DVD, i always compare regions to make sure im not getting some crappy edited version (usually the UK discs) and will pay more to get an extended version of the film
also, i look for the older horror gems more than more recent flicks from the last 10 years or so
also i love gore flicks, and i have a long list of these that i must see, most of which i can only get uncut though importing them

I'm absolutely a collector. Of horror movies, not of merchandise.

I'm an avid horror film collector. It's an expensive habit to support, but that's what prostitution is for.

I grew bored of buying bad horror films... now I think I'm going to collect action figures because action figures kick ass.

I dont collect a lot of horror movies because I dont think most are worth buying but I am trying to collect the entire Anchor Bay Tin series. I have Evil Dead 2, Halloween 5, two Halloween 4 ones, and The Beyond and Im about to get Let Sleeping Corpses Die and Hellraiser. That leaves just Maniac to get. Im a big collector but these tins are the only horror bunch that Im collecting at the moment. I was trying to collect all of the Friday, Nightmare, and Halloween films but I got about halfway through on each and have decided to just get the box sets and wait for the Friday one.

I've got the entire set of Anchor bay tins ;) and I've also got the Wicker Man wooden box, the NOES Boxset and The Evil Dead Book Of The Dead. I'm a real sucker for collectable items.

Not as much the avid collector of films as I use to be. Like now, if I kinda like a movie there is no way I'm going to go out and get it whereas in the old days, I just bought it on the spot. Now that Visa bills and student loans have been added to my 'things to do list' as an adult - I've cut back.
But I will drop kick you outta my way for horror T-shirts. Now that, I cannot seem to escape. I'm absolutely mental.

Well if there's a movie I really like and it's a good dvd(good picture, sound, and plenty of extras) then I'll buy it.

I GOT ONE!! I GOT ONE!!
Took me 25 frickin' years but I got one!!!

Well count me in as one of those serious horror collectors wholl do anything to see those hard to find horror gems. It does get kind of expensive but hey its all worth it when you pop that dvd in and see what youd been missing out on. I love discovering old films that are still good even though many years have passed since they were first released. Stuff like old Dracula Hammer films just put a huuuge smile of my face when I see them. :D
Also being a "serious" horror collector will include seeing all those hard to get foreign horror films. I love discovering films like Fulcis The Beyond or House by the Cemetary, some people will just pass this up simply because they are foreign...but trust me theres a lot of good stuff in the foreign horror film department, you just have to look for it.
Skweem kween good to see you back! BTW.

I'm a bit of a collector myself, particularly where my fave horror movies are concerned. I've got a few of the Anchor Bay tins (Halloween's 4 and 5, The Beyond and Let Sleeping Corpses Lie), and several box sets (including the NOES 8-discer, Spawn animated, The Omen trilogy, Sleepaway Camp trilogy and the Alien Legacy set).
I'll also go that extra mile to get the most complete version of a movie - I've bought 3 copies of Halloween 2 alone, once to get it on DVD, again to get the US version with a whole 2 seconds! of additional gore, and then the UK release with a commentary by Kim Newman (which is awesome). There's also three copies of the original Halloween sitting on my shelves, and I paid an obscene amount of money a couple of years ago for the 2-disc Dawn Of The Dead with the Argento cut of the film. :D
Are we crazy? Damn right! :D

I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 horror flicks give or take 100 or so. Most are rare, asian, german, extreme, out of print titles. I don't go much for mainstream flicks like I did when I was a teenager.
Back in those days I had some cool things that just got left behind with time. I had an original Nightmare on Elm St 4 poster, as well as posters for Angel Heart, American Gothic, and countless posters from the old Gorezone magazine of the 80's and early 90's.
Now my creme-de-la-creme of horror collectables are my hat and jacket worn by the original crew in Event Horizon. I just got them the other day and love them to absolute death!
