And so it is that I join you all again for another Buffy, the Vampire Slayer episode tournament, run by your host urbanlegend23! This time its for season three! Here are the matches for round 1:

I love Graduation Day, Part II, it is one of my all-time favourites. Anne is not that great but has sentimental value as it was the first episode I ever saw.

Sweet mother of Christ, I can't believe it's a tie. I figured Graduation, Part 2 had a good shot at winning this one, but seeing as it might lose to Anne, I'm not so sure now.

Graduation, Part One. The Graduation two-parter isn't one of the better finales, but it's still excellent. I actually prefer the first part to the second.
Dead Man's Party is the weakest episode of the season, IMO. Note that I said weakest, not bad - it certainly isn't a bad episode. It's just that in a season of outstanding episodes, this one stood out as being decidedly mediocre.

I really like both eps. But that Faith/ Buffy fight was the ultimate payoff. I gotta vote for Grad Pt. 1, one of thre best of the Season.

The Prom was a lovely episode. Much better than FH&T.

FH&T was alright but was just not very interesting.
The Prom seemed rushed with the(to me)unecessary Hellhound subplot(horrible villains)but was saved by the extremely sweet and brilliant Prom scene at the end. I felt like I would have tears of joy(although I didn't cry or anything-wasn't too sad/happy like some other episodes*coughTheBodycough*).
So I think I'll vote for The Prom.

The Prom. The scene where Buffy is presented with the umbrella is one of the best scenes in the series, IMO.

Nice suggestion with 4 votes, but I think 7 being the minimum is more appropriate because it allows the matches to go on longer. I felt really bad for Buffy all the way through The Freshman - God, I love that episode - but I loved Sunday, I wish she hadn't died so quickly.

I tend not to like "shocking" films (baise moi, irreversible, larry clark films etc.) of the type that tend to be banned as I usually find em to be over hyped pretentious nonsense, so no in answer to yer question. That ban was just mad though, the ep is clearly not advocating high school shootings, it was no surprise the show jumped networks.
Ironically the British video censors thought Earshot was one of the less violent episodes of season 3- they gave earshot the equivalent of mpaa pg13, while most of the other eps got the equivalent of mpaa R

Definitely Band Candy. "Young" Giles and Joyce were hilarious together. They made the entire episode for me. Well, them and Snyder. :).

5-4 Enemies wins.
I didn't like Band Candy as much as most people. It was good. I enjoyed the adults running round like teenagers, but some of the humour was to slapstick for me and I hated the ending with the demon that eats babies. Seemed completely unnecessary and a story apart from the episode. I think it would've been better had it just been Ethan Rayne getting up to mischief.

I liked the little smile on Vamp Willow's face at the end, before she was sent back to her reality. It was a cool moment.

Another slaughter with Lovers Wak winning 6-1.
That was the first episode from the first 11 episodes of the season that won a match. All the other times its been from the latter 11 - Grad Day Parts 1&2, The Prom, Choices, Earshot, Enemies & Doppelgangland. I wonder if The Wish will be so fortunate as Lovers Walk in the next episode...

Though I do love Bad Girls a terrible amount, The Wish is a tour-de-force. I vote for Marti Noxon's best episode, The Wish.
I vote for Bad Girls. Bad girls was key to the season and imo, the wish is overrated a little, I mean it was well executed but ultmately was little more than It's a Wonderful Life with vamps. And I HATE shows where the "reset button" ending is used- well at least the wish is the only time buffy did it.

The Wish was a masterpiece. It did start a storyline and introduced a new character at the same time,it was intense,it was scary,it was sad and what about that brilliant slow motion scene where all the scoobies perish(excluding Giles)? Plus it had Anya which I won't go on about. The Wish was perfection and that's it.

Hmm...this one's hard. I didn't love either. The Zeppo was probably better and more enjoyable for me personally. Amends was one of Joss' weakest efforts. So, The Zeppo it is for me.
I think they're both great.The Zeppo takes it because Amends ending was just yuk yuk yuk.

I vote for Gingerbread. A really underrated episode, in my opinion. The big demon at the end was one of the cooler looking monsters to be seen on Buffy.
Gingerbread. Willows ma was wonderful- a shame we never saw her again.

Awesome idea! Then again, it is just going to make it harder for us to vote next time when an episode we love dearly re-enters the tournament. But still, cool!
Urbanlegend, I thought you were supposed to pick two episodes that have been kicked out of the tournament already. But you picked Doppelgangland, which is still in.
My favourite three episodes of the season are still in, so that's kind of cool, but if I had to vote two more back in, I'd go with The Prom and, since no one else will pick it, Homecoming.

I vote Earshot. I rewatched Dopplegangland for the last round and it wasn't quite as good as I recalled. Don't get me wrong it's still damn fine TV but the shots of the 2 Alyson Hannigans together look really fake and AH herself hams it up a little too much in some of the scenes.
