13 reasons NOT to love Jason takes Manhattan?

13: Horrible acing by almost everyone involved. The principal the exception. Good job jerk off! Everyone else though.... if you could act, you wouldn't be in this movie.

12: Bad bad BAD special effects. Was there even a special effects crew? I heard it was one of the only ones not butchered to diddly fuck by those bastards at the MPAA.

11: Jason is uncreative. Was he even trying, or does he just think that killing people is same old, same old. He isn't even trying here. Although that boxing scene was pretty bitchin.

10: That psychic bullshit. Come on, it's all been done before. Come on people, give the supernatural thing a rest, and just give us more atmospheric entires like 2,3,4.

9: No nudity. That's what these films are about! Gore and gratuitous nudity. Unfortunatley this film has neither.

8: Where's Manhattan? This wasn't Jason take Showboat, this was Jason takes Manhattan. And how much of New York did we really see? 15 minutes MAX.

7: Renee is the weakest heroine. That's right, this movie blew and so did all the characters. The principal the exception. Good job jerk off! Renee, I didn't feel anything for her. Christ, I felt more for Alice which in my opinion is the weakest F13 heroine. Behind unsympthtic, unloveable Renee of course.

6: Gangsters take on Jason? I'll admit, I did laugh when he lifted up his mask, but adding in black stereotypes was unecissary and just plain... well tasteless.

5: Useless scenes. Many useless scenes, like for example when the boxer got killed with the hot rock. How many more pointless deaths like that? Wouldn't they know by then? I mean, come on. There high school kids. More than one is gonna use the sauna. It doesn't make that much sense. Well you get my drift.

4: The terrible script. Who wrote this? A pot smoking baboon? More holes than moth eaten socks, and worse dialogue than an regular teen movie. This movie reeked of bad lines like Tara Reid and "I'm cumming! I'm cumming!" in American Pie. Stupid shit like that.

3: Toxic waste turning Jason back into a kid? What the fuck? Toxic waste would not turn him back into a child. It just doesn't come through. And makes no sense- even for a Friday the 13th flick.

2: Jason's sloppy ass make-up. Come on, I've seen better special effects in a low budget kid's film. That make up was totally unrealistic and looked like it just jumped out of a comic book. Like I said, was there even a special effects crew?

[/B][/QUOTE] I agree, the acting was pretty stiff. I hated the principal most of all though. And that annoying side teacher who kept trying to encourage Renee. But it may not have been jsut the acting that was bad but the way the characters were set up. I did like the boxing guy though :)

I thought this one was pretty massacred at the MPAA halls of shame. I didnt find the FX that bad for a Friday but more gore would have been nice

.One of the only things I enjoyed on this movie was Jason. I loved his outfit in this one and his actions. The hot-rocks -- ouch!!! Some of the kills were pretty lame, sure, and nothing overly exciting but I enjoyed Jason himself

Yeah I was surprised at least the blonde girl didnt show any. And to my memory no classic death during sex scenes

I didnt find it as bad as you but it's low on the totem pole. For me 9 gets my pure hatred. One thing I can say about this movie is why the hell Jason got on their boat in the first place? Well...obviously to kill but you know what I mean. And did anyone else get annoyed by the cheap look the picture had? Something with the lighting

I agree, its another bad entry in a pretty weak horror film series, but at least the producers tried with this one: the setting change, decent flashbacks, pretty original kills, etc.

Wrong-o! This was one of the MOST butchered! They had to actually film ENTIRELY NEW death scenes cause the originals were deemed too nasty!
Like for example, the part with the sauna rocks, that guy originally died with darts in his eyes.

I can't believe no one here has mentioned the fact that Jason liked to teleport himself in this movie. He'd be in one spot for one moment, then suddenly appear somewhere else in the blink of an eye.

Shameful, and I agree this was one pretty boring FRIDAY film.

Are any of the other F13 movies any different? They're all just as misleading and stupid and just plain awful. It's the worst slasher series in history. Most of them are boring as a dog's ass. It's the one that gives the horror series a bad name nowadays, because all Jason does is kill and kill and kill and, for the most part, kill at random. Meyers had his reasons, and at least Freddy was an imaginative concept. The Jason series really offers nothing but death and nudity. I'm not complaining about the nudity, I'm just saying they're all shit.

Jason Lives (Part 6) is still my favourite, and your observations on the film are more that true.....why the HELL did he decide to get on their boat anyway???

Yes. Those are some damn good reasons. But I have to say, I rather did enjoy JGTH. I enjoy all the F13 movies, except this one and number 2, which sucks. But hey, at least number 2 had atmosphere and Paul was one cool son of a bitch. Other than that, 2 was a shit film.

I do like Jason, and have enjoyed 1,3,4,5,6,7,9,X and Freddy vs Jason. They're some of the bst slashers around, and they're not boring. Well other than 2 and 8 of course.

well i know u all had a problem with the "teleportion" thing. but u gotta admit in some of the other entries jason just kinda was one place than suddenly somewhere else. i still hated this one but as far as the teleportion goes. it happened alot in the other entries and really in horror movies all together. imo
