Hey fellas, I'm planning on staying in this year for Halloween and just watching horror films. I plan already on watching Stephen King's It. Any you can suggest that might make the night more spokier. Don't mention any of the Halloween Movies as they will be on all night on cable. I'm just trying to find some good ones I can rent and if possible rent on DVD.

Bosss, Halloween's on a friday this year! You've gotta come out and raiiiise a little hell!

Here's some ideas. Most of these are easy to find on DVD

House On Haunted Hill (original)
Night Of The Living Dead
Carnival Of Souls
Dementia 13
Night Of The Demons
Demons/Demons II

all cool flicks. I think I'm gonna save my copy of Dr Jeckyll and Mister Hyde until then.

Don't think I don't know Halloween is on a Friday, but really I just wanna have nice little movie horror fest at house, turn all the lights out and have nightmares all night long :D. Dementia 13 & Carnival of Souls I will defintley look into, the others I've seen & they didn't really do it for me as far as being afraid. I seriously considering to seeing "The Ring" I haven't seen it, but everybody keep talking about how horror driven it is. I hope so, I enjoy that stuff.

The original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and the recent "House of 1000 Corpses" (now available on DVD) seem like intense and fun movies to watch on Halloween.

The Boss,

Go with The Ring. It's got that chilling atmospere that I think you deserve this Helloween. Take my word for it, it will definately be on my list as well late October.

City of the Living Dead a.k.a Gates of Hell is perfect for Halloween. It's got plenty of graphicly sick gore and a really creepy dark athmosphere.

I usually just watch as many films out of the Halloween series as I can.

I've read that Fright Night and The Changeling are great to watch on Halloween. That's why I bought them and are going to watch them then. But for movies I have seen, The Omen would definitely be a top choice. The same goes for The Monster Squad!

some good gory films to watch on Halloween would be
Dawn of the dead
Day of the dead
Evil Dead
Demons
Dead Alive
Zombie

Now as for frightening wise i'd recommend Suspiria. Man that movie is creepy!

The first horror movies I remember seeing on Halloween are the classics from Universal & Hammer.

The Boss,
go with Hellraiser (the original) The Howling (again, original) Stir of Echos.....and whatever the SciFi channel is showing that night, they can usually be counted on for good Holloween watching (even though its edited). hell last year was The Prophecy trilogy, nothing wrong with that.

THE HOWLING

DAWN OF THE DEAD

FRIGHT NIGHT

THE OMEN

PHANTASM

DEMONS

FRIDAY THE 13th PART 3 (my favorite of the original 4)

CREEPSHOW

Basically my Halloween pals are:

The Evil Dead
Halloween Series
Stir Of Echos
(the original) Nightmare On Elm Street (at 3:00am. 31rst)

Etc.

I watched ANOES at 2:30am last Halloween, I swear; it was the best! It was worth waking up that early then going right back to sleep! :D

Yeah, I think I'd be here a while if I listed ALL the movies I felt that were good on Halloween. Stick with Evil Dead for starters and you'll be fine.
