A question?

Is there any kind of machine that one could buy that converts your vhs tapes to dvd? My uncle says that there is. But why the hell havent I seen or heard anything about it?

you'd need to spend atleast £400 to do that, but I'm not sure of prices in the USA. First you'd need a DV-bridge which has an s-video input, you can then record from your VCR to the computer, then you can get a DVD-rom drive for about £350 for a shitty one if you're really lucky. You record off your HDD to the DVD. It's probably extremely long and difficult. Alternatively you could get one of those new fangled DVD recorders which sit under your telly (now under £1000) and depending on connections just record straight off your VCR.
