Roman Holiday was on AMC last night and when it was over, I went online to see if I could buy it on DVD. Guess what? It's unavailable.
Not only is it a great love story, and that also stars two great actors, Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn, but it also won 3 Academy Awards (Best Actress in a Leading Role, Audrey Hepburn; Best Costume Design, Black-and-White, Edith Head; Best Writing, Motion Picture Story, Ian McLellan Hunter & Dalton Trumbo) and was nominated for 7 others.

Sadly there are many that aren't unavailable because people are usually more likely to buy a crappy new movie than a really good old one. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/frown.gif

It just kinda bugs me when Oscar winning films aren't available on DVD but yet you can find all sorts of crap. I can just imagine going to Ballbuster or some other video store and having the following exchange...
Customer: Excuse me, is Roman Holiday available on DVD?
Store person: No, but we have a lot of copies of Freddy Gets Fingered for sale.

Anyone ever seen Ghost World when the guy is trying to find 8 1/2 and instead gets 9 1/2 Weeks? This reminds me of that...
