I've been doing this myself so I'm wondering how unusual is it? It's no secret that I love Event Horizon and as a stay at home dad I have lots of time between chasing my son to have long periods of boredom. So I occupy myself doing things related to my little movie. I made a parody of it, I've bought two props used in the movie, I occasionally greenscreen myself into scenes of it (like a typical Star Trek nerd, yes, I know), I recite large portions of it spontaniously, etc. So am I the only one that goes so overboard for a movie? Don't count Sal Piro, the Rocky Horror guy. he's obviously mad! ;)
I remember back in '90 I did the same thing when I got all gung ho over Nightbreed!

The same goes for here too. Every halloween I try and buy a new costume from a good horror movie such as Jason or Freddy or whatever.
Like this year I'm dressing up as Killjoy even though I'm not obsessed with the movie. But still, I like seeing them so much on the screen I can hardly wait for Oct.31. I too, have several props used in films and just whatever I can get. Often at times, when I'm watching a great film at the cinema such as Underworld...I'll be thinking about buying the poster/toys/memorabilia almost immediately. I can't live with just watching it, I gotta FEEL something to further enhance my daydreams to horror la-la land.

When I get obsessed with a film I'll watch it quite frequently and memorize several quotes and I'll try to find out as much behind the scenes information as possible.

I'll watch the films about 20+ times and buy memorbilia. I haven't been obsessed with a series in a long time.

Its no secret im a fan of Fright Night. I love that film to death.
I know the dialogue by heart, and when ever the songs turn on I pump up the volume.
I bought the whole Fright Night comic book series from Now Comics. And read the whole thing!
Recently I bought the Fright Night II dvd that artisan put out, it sucks balls because that version is not even WIDESCREEN and it has no extras whatsoever! But at least I have the movie.

I frequently don a hockey mask and slaughter teens with my machette, but I wouldn't say I was obsessive, no. ;)

Back in the day, i bought the soundtrack on cassette. To my knowledge it's never been on CD so I took my cassette and transfered it to CD. I can hook you up if you are willing to pay for the postage and stuff.

Being the HUGE FRIGHT NIGHT fan that I am, I have both films on DVD and VHS. I've also collected old magazines over the years that have articles for the film. I also show my appreciation by making art (most drawings, but some sculptures, too). I always make references to people that I know despite them not knowing about it. I've downloaded the whole soundtrack off of Kazaa as well. If there were commentaries, then I'd be able to learn more about it. Most of the stuff I know comes from the mags and interviews with cast members.
I'm pretty much the same way with RE-ANIMATOR. Most of the mags with Fright Night articles also talk about Stuart Gordon's 1985 gorefest. I know the entire dialogue of the film as well as some of the stories that went on behind the scenes. Those commentaries really allow me to learn more about the making of the film and all of the little-known trivia. I have the Millennium edition DVD as well as the 1999 special edition DVD of BRIDE OF RE-ANIMATOR. This past summer I bought the remastered soundtrack from LalaLand Records and the little booklet was signed by Richard Band.

HOW obsessed am I?
How water-tight is a frog's ass?
You should search for a thread I did christ - I think it was a year ago or more about 'how bad do you got it?' I think I was hands down, one of the more pathetic obsessed horror fans.
My big ones though:
Near Dark
The Crow
Alien series
Romero triology
Carpenter's The Thing
Evil Dead series
Elvira, Mistress the Dark (the woman, not the movie only)

what's the maximum amount of theatrical times you've seen one movie then? Mine is 12.

Terror Vision is my baby! Finding the poster to this movie made me go cuckoo!
I know every line. I have the music and I have the movie in every format but I wish I could get a real DVD of it someday. My husband has everything Dawn Of The Dead!

For me it's Romero's dead trilogy, I watch the series at least once a week, I make music videos from the movies, i've read and have all the scripts (thanks to the internet), I have Dawn Of The Dead board game, I quote lines from the movies.
And i also have a plan for when the dead do come back to life on what I'm going to do, and when i move I make sure the new place is easy to board up.

HALLOWEEN is easily my obsession.
I have all the original movie posters, movies on VHS/DVD/CD. I have been Michael Myers numerous years for Halloween. Fall is my favorite season, October is my favorite month, 31 is my lucky number. I bought a $230 mask that is a replica of the original. I filmed a "remake" of the original HALLOWEEN (though I hate to use that word remake) 3 years ago.
And besides being my favorite movie, HALLOWEEN also holds title to my favorite movie ending of all time.

When I'm really into a movie, I'll buy every copy of it I can find...only if the cover is different or if it's an anniversary edition or something like that. Along with memorabilia. Oh and I watch it about five times a day. Example...I was fifteen when Halloween 6 came out. I saw it at the theater's four times. When it came out I didn't have the money to buy it, so I rented it from a video store and never returned it. I watched it seven times a day for like three months. It was always on. My parents were ready to call a psychiatrist.
