I read today in NME that Stereophonics have sacked their hideously permed drummer Stuart Cable (picture below) citing a lack of commitment as the main reason. Now all that's required is for Kelly Jones to sack the rest of the band and for himself to retire and the UK music scene will instantly be 100% healthier. They are the very fucking definition of Dadrock (along with Ocean Fucking Colour Bastard Scene).

Think a certain chick flick starring Lord Patrick Of Swayze and some penny-pushing fruitcake...

i can't understand why he had a lack of comitment,i am sure if i was in a band that played music as bland as they do i would be possitivly giddy at the prospect of playing.

HEY HEY HEY!
I like the Stereophonics! Yes, you read that right: I like them, love them actually- they're one of my favourite bands and I own three of their albums.
Sad news about the perm guy but c'est la vie! I'm sure they'll find a replacement soon.

Their first two LP's were excellent but now they are the 21st Century's Level 42! :)

I think it's time for (drum roll please)...
DAVE GROHL'S TOP TEN DRUMMER JOKES
1. What do Ginger Baker and canteen coffee have in common?
They both suck without Cream.
2. How many drummers does it take to change a lightbulb?
Just one, so long as the roadie gets the ladder, sets it up and puts the bulb in the socket for him.
3. What is the difference between a chiropidist and Ginger Baker?
A chiropidist bucks up your feet
4. How many drummers does it take to change a lightbulb?
Five: One to screw the bulb in, and four to talk about how much better Neil Peart would have done it.
5. How can you tell a drummer's at the door?
The knocking speeds up.
6. How can you tell when a drummer's at the door?
He doesn't know when to come in
7. How can you tell when the drum riser is level?
Drool comes out of both sides of the drummer's mouth.
8. What do you call a drummer that breaks up with his girlfriend?
Homeless.
9. How many drummers does it take to change a light bulb?
None: they have a machine to do that now.
10. What's the last thing a drummer says in a band?
"Hey guys, why don't we try one of my songs?

Excellent stuff, Psychocandy.
Can I say one thing though? Stuart was the only member of that fucking band I liked - a genuinely nice, funny, enthusiatic musician that made me smile the way I smile when Cookie Monster, with sad inevitability, just can't hold back any longer and eats all the cookies. I hope he goes the way of Robbie after Take That (not music-wise, naturally). Good luck to 'im.
As for the other two, well, hmmm, what can I say...one good album and a smattering of tunes that didn't displease me before they disappeared up their own crinkle-holes is not enough to save them from the Fate Of MOR. Byeeeeeeeee!

maybe its the amount of time i spend down in Wales, but i quite like the 'phonics. good for sunday mornings, nice n easy to listen to. down to earth, simple music. bit like me really ;)
everything has it niche.
plus, i actually have to like one band mentioned in the forum. while still being in the minority of course ;)
