Though nothing is official yet, the story will most likely revolve around the return of the Dragon King. Some random bits of information/rumors:

Midway is shooting for a 2004 release.
Platforms may include Xbox, PlayStation 2, Gamecube, and Gameboy Advance.
Dan Forben will be doing the music for Mortal Kombat 6.
A new character may be Dairou.
The development team will be the same as the Deadly Alliace team.
The game will use the same gameplay system as Deadly Alliance.
Many new characters are being made, but only a few will appear in the game.
Each character will have more than one fatality.
The Krypt may return again.

I'm sorry guys, but the MK series died when MK 3 came out. The game became a parody of itself then, and even though MK 4 tried to rectify it with going back to the darker feel and new graphics, it was still too late, in my opinion. I haven't played Deadly Alliance (although I would like to one of these days), but for me, MK 2 is still the best in the series.

I miss Baraka, he was cool. My favourite character in the Mortal Kombat series. I just loved it when they brought him back for MK:Gold but was really disappointed when I finished the game with him. What a sucky end video :(

Although, I wouldn't mind seeing an MK6 but I was a little disappointed with Deadly Alliance, hopefully they can improve on some stuff and add some features in where they couldn't with Deadly Alliance.

For one thing I hope they limit the juggles a little better. for the sake of my blood pressure.

Yo schomes,

A new piece of info for the new Mortal Kombat game:

In MK: DA, Reptile was inhabited/possessed by the Dragon King infant from his incubation egg of paralysis. It is likely that he will return to rule and torment many realms, and yet again Earthrealm as so familiar with the preceding incumbents Shao Kahn, Shinnok, Quan Chi, and Shang Tsung, etc. The only useable information at this point is that Midway has already purchased domain name properties and legal United States patents for the name "Mortal Kombat Deception". The web address of their new property is available at mortalkombatdeception.com (http://mortalkombatdeception.com) and mkdeception.com (http://mkdeception.com). It is possible that the game may be entitled an additional name in addition to the term "deception", but it is concrete that the game will bear the title "Mortal Kombat Deception", and alternately Mortal Kombat 6.

Click here (http://www.mktemple.com/mk6.html) for the full article and the first teaser image for the game.

Thoughts?

Yeah, something to do with not having "on-line capiablities" and also the sales for MKDA weren't as great on the Gamecube as they were on PS2 and X-box. Something like that, anyways.

Gamecube does have online capabilities, but barealy any agmes because Nintendo think its stupid that you have to pay for online gameplay, and if they wil have it it will need to be one pay for connection then free for the rest of its usage. The way it should be.

Yeah, Nintendo needs to get with the times and go online with more than a few games. It's their loss. Oh well...I'll still pick up the new MK game when I get a PS2 later.

Konquest mode has returned in a much expanded form. Unlike MK: Deadly Alliance's Konquest, the new version is much more akin to something out of Grand Theft Auto. You still have to attend the dojo to learn from characters like Bo'Rai Cho, but there are also random encounters and events in the village that can be the clue to secret techniques and other rewards. (You can even beat up hapless villagers for the heck of it). As in MKDA, the goal of Konquest is to learn the combos and strategies of the game. Best of all, Konquest acts as a create-a-character mode, where you build up your generic monk character through the Konquest, and when done, can use him in the other game modes, including online play.

The rest of the new feautres can be seen over at Mortal Kombat Online (http://www.mortalkombatonline.com). So far, things are looking good for this game and this could in fact be the best Mortal Kombat....no thats too obvious, howabout the best fighting game ever to grace the consoles.
