View Full Version : Is there anything you CAN'T watch?

I really can not watch eye torture. Or dental torture ewwwwww.

What about you?

dental tortue does kinda get to me like in The Dentist but I can still watch. Speaking of eyeball puncturing I thought that scene in Zombie was gonna make me twitch and turn away but suprisingly it didn't. I can basically stomach anything though.

10-03-2003, 02:47 PM
I can't watch anything that deals with blood being pumped out of veins, or something similar to that. I get weak in the knees and stomach every time, and have to turn away.

An example is Jared Leto exposing his drug-abused purple/blue/pulpy looking arm in REQUIEM FOR A DREAM. Eck!!

not a single thing i can't watch. i am sick i know but i been brought up with horror.

Animals being killed or tortured for real and compilations of real life atrocities, public suicides and executions (though not really horror). That's about the only stuff that I point blank refuse to watch.

Stuff I have a hard time watching? Scenes featuring any sort of dental related maimings (The Dentist, The Dentist 2, Marathon Man & Final Destination 2 spring to mind). I'm also not to clever when it comes to eye trauma (Zombie) and graphically broken bones (The Fly). That's about it. Everything else is fair game.

10-03-2003, 04:25 PM
I'm with Psychocandy, I can't watch the killing of animals. I was especially disgusted and had to look away from the infamous tortoise scene in Cannibal Holocaust.

10-03-2003, 04:26 PM
I can't watch Travolta....

I've seen a lot of freaky stuff in horror films, but the fire extinguisher beating at the beginning of IRREVERSIBLE had me cringing.

I've never met anything I couldn't watch. I've seen movies like "Zombie Holocuast," and it doesn't bother me at all. I have yet to see "Cannibal Holocaust" to see if that, as I've heard much about, would push my limits. Having heard the disgustings elements concerning "Salo: 120 Days of Sodom," I have a feeling that's something I might throw up at. If there's anything now that I probably can't handle, it would be seeing a dog get treated badly or killed on-screen. What can I say, I'm dog-lover underneath.

10-03-2003, 10:08 PM
Repeats of "Full House".

But seriously folks...... I don`t like the stuff with animals getting slaughtered either.

10-03-2003, 10:28 PM
I can watch anything, but there are things I don't want to watch; namely any deaths involving children under the age of 10.

Looking at that guy's arm in RFAD made me puke.

10-04-2003, 10:39 AM
anything to do with eyes

10-04-2003, 01:24 PM
Then do not watch Eyeball.

I also have to say that I do not like to see animals get hurt either but that is if they are innocent. Cujo and Ella are far from innocent!:p

10-04-2003, 01:48 PM
Rape scenes get me, dunno why. I can stand all the blood and guts in the world..

10-04-2003, 01:51 PM
If I know that its just an effect then its not very often that it bothers me. If however its real there is no way I'll even consider watchin that. Oh yea for some reason even though I have a love for horror I still have difficulties watching hospital dramas :S dont know why

10-04-2003, 04:05 PM
carrie 2 ( a stupid movie) at the end she makes the girls glasses explode into her eyes..that shit was sick and i shivered cuz i wear glasses as well..just imagining it makes me wanna puke

i also cant watch homosexual porn

10-04-2003, 04:59 PM
I can watch body parts being cut right off in most movies without flinching, but for some reason, the sight of dislocated limbs makes me cringe.

dental torture like in the dentist. sharp objects coming into your eye like in zombie (although the splinter scene was not as bad as i thought it would be) and the gates of hell drill scene. when people get sufficated allways makes me hold my breath, i can't help it.

10-05-2003, 12:45 PM
I wonder if there's anything The Great and Powerful Arrow can't watch?

10-05-2003, 02:53 PM
Rape scenes really bother me like in I spit on your grave.

10-05-2003, 02:55 PM
I can watch about anything even if it disscust me at the highest level.

I have somehow problem with violent rape but I still can watch it.

Hey Parilese! I know you watch some of the same movies as do I. You said you hate vagina mutilations. Can I assume you've seen Naked Blood? :D

As for me, there isn't anything I can't handle.

THAT, and anything with Tori Spelling. And I think his poison would be a movie about "Fisting Tori Spelling". Hey, that has a nice ring to it.

No animal deaths (especially little furry animals), or nothing pertaining to the eyeballs.

10-05-2003, 06:15 PM
The worst thing are cockroaches. Clowns scare me as well, but i can still watch them easily.

Some movies actually have that???

Which ones?

As for myself...I can handle just about anything. Though I sometimes cringe at scenes depicting graphic injuries to sensitive body parts (eyes, fingers, toes, etc). Example: Jeff Goldblum squeezing the pus out of his fingers in The Fly.

10-06-2003, 08:42 AM
I don't really care for animal cruelty or rapes scenes. Eyeball trauma makes me squirm but I can tolerate it.

10-06-2003, 08:47 AM
I don't dig rape scenes or scenes that depict serious, true to life human suffering...like the scene from Dead Man Walking when the two killers are raping that girl and holding her boyfriend down. I hate that fucking movie because of that scene. If I ever came across someone raping a woman, by the time I was finished they would be begging me to kill them.

10-06-2003, 11:14 AM
Real deaths get to me. The Last road to hell section of Cannibal Holocaust shook me up. Of the fake stuff there isn't much i can't stomach but both the key scenes in Irreversible and several moments in Ichi had me wincing

I know what you mean. I cringed in my seat and practially covered my eyes out of shock when Stiffler was forced to do that. The only other scene that ever made me do that was the "biscuit" scene in "Van Wilder."

10-07-2003, 05:32 PM

Recently I watched Buried Alive the USA channel one. Anyway when the guy claws his way out of the grave his hands are pretty torn up so much so that when he gets all cleaned up he takes a rag and puts it in his mouth and then fills the sink up with Peroxide, then he plunges his hand in the sink and all you see are bubbles and him moaning and biting down on the rag. That scene just makes me feel the pain!

10-08-2003, 02:37 PM
I think I can take just about anything that is fake. On the other hand, I can't stand watching real suffering. I can look at pictures of rotting or mutilated dead people, or even maimed anesthatised ones, but not ones of people actually suffering.

In Pink Flamingos, when Divine at the dog shit, I had to leave the room, heaving. Everyone else was stunned because I'm the gore hound who can put up with depictions of so much that sends them running. "But that's just pretend!" I kept saying. "This guy is really *eating a poo*!". But they couldn't see my point.

Oh, watching John Hurt pretend to be in pain is difficult, because the guy is *so* good at it.

Also, for some odd reason, I find it hard to watch fake scenes of money being destroyed. I don't know why. I know it isn't real and fake scenes of people being hurt doesn't bother me. Maybe I'm just more used to it.

Liza Minelli and the whole Cabaret movie...

Someone should get John Laroquette to do a voice over intro before the film starts to warn everyone of it's shocking events to come.

The horror.... the horror...

The Corey Haim pic STEVERENO likes to whip out.

Seriously: Anything that falls on 'REAL'. I can watch anything as long as it's staged, no matter how real it looks.

Funny, I don't rember anybody, certainly not Chucky, biting out anybody's throat in "Child Play." Could this "throat biting" be from another movie, or even another "Child's Play" sequel?

10-11-2003, 09:10 PM
That was actually from Pet Sematary. Anyways, I can watch ANYTHING as long as its fake. Child murder, rape, and mutilation don't bother me no matter how real it looks. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.
