Im not sure how long it actually is but it seems like forever. Its very slow paced. Dont get me wrong, I really dug it and when the ending rolled around I was glad I stayed to see it.

Alice Krige from Star Trek:First Contact is in it (Borg Queen) she likes to f***, but she wants her men to marry something 'cold' to the touch. I have had the DVD from way back when the chowder society were wairing tuxedoes and scaring the life out of themselves telling some whoppers, only they have something to hide about their past.
The lawyer went on to tell ghost stories to chilldren about Spivy Point and Blakes lost Gold in "The Fog" before he got winded in the "The Paper Chase", Melvin Douglas was "The Changeling" in the movie of the same name with george C. Scott and real life wife Trish Van Dervere.

I saw the movie about a year ago but I was so stoned out of my mind I don't remember a goddamn thing about it. I remember not really enjoying it though (at least not in that state of mind). I did just read a few weeks ago though, and that was fucking awesome. One of the best horror novels I've read.

Not very good but it has a good scene : the car sunking into the water and suddenly the girl who wakes up.

This is the first time I saw a man's wee wee in a movie!:D
My mother took me to see this and that part where you see the penis just facinated me.
I like this movie and the book and of course the score!;)

The book was fantastic, so when I saw the movie I was totally let down! So much was gone (obvious from such a big book, but COME ON!) that it hardly made sense. If you want a creepy book to get into this Halloween, check out the novel. It isn't gory, but gets under your skin.

Jeees.. seven posts and only ONE mention of the infamous shrivelled up dick shot?
for shame!
REALLY good flick.. I dont remember the score at all, though. I liked how well the flashback sequences worked in this.. its kinda rare to see them being used so well..

I used to hate this, and well I'm not exactly fond of it now, it's an alright movie with a very good climax. Slow in places, and I dont really like the music much, but all in all, a 6/10 film. That ghost woman is fucking freaky, so the movie is scary enough. Pretty moody at times.
Yes Romero, I too am stunned nobody else but Parilese mentioned that one dudes wiener.:D

I loved the book, so I can't really endorse the movie because it didn't follow the book's plot. The book was engrossing with a layered plot that kind of introduced a new type of monster (the manitou). The movie was a disappointment that seemed to borrow one thread of the book and made a different story. I believe that if a movie is going to made from a book, it damn well should follow the plot, not go off on its own and capitalize off a best selling title.

ive never been too interested in ghost flicks and Ghost Story was no exception really, the cinematography was nice and the film looked great. Krige's performance was good, as were those by the older cast members but the younger actors were pretty poor most of the time and kinda annoying as well. the films pacing was also very slow but it wasnt as bad as some ghost flicks and remained relatively engaging until the end
6/10

I can whittle my opinion down to two very simple statements.
The book is a classic.
The movie is an abomination.
I was so disappointed. I read the book not knowing that there was a movie. When I discovered that it had been adapted I was absolutely delighted and eager to see the end result. It was awful. Truly appalling.
Now...here's a book that's ripe for re-adaptation. It could make a fantastic mini-series. There have been some well above average Stephen King mini series and Ghost Story would, in the hands of a decent scriptwriter and director, make for some enthralling TV.

"Ghost Story" was a Peter Straub book, right?

Yes and the only one I could finish by him. This author is highly respected and I have tried over the years to get into countless books by him but just never can. Pacing is always too slow.
