***May contain Spoilers****

This movie was pretty cool. It is older and rated PG but it is actually pretty bloody and you know they always got away with a bit more back then gore wise anyway.
The only thing that sucks about this movie is that it is full frame and even on DVD it is still full frame and this movie suffers greatly because of it.
The music is pretty cool, not too hokey. The director of this film died a bit after filming this from a helicopter crash and he was only 30. I checked out IMDB and this movie got some positive but funny comments.
This is also a movie I would include in a shots game. You know where you would watch a movie and at a certain point you would do shots.
Well I already said that if you watch the full frame version of Hell Night and take a shot each time you see the boom mike you would get drunker than hell!:)
Well, this movie is no exception. There is a line in this film
"It is not a bear it's a Grizzly"
well, whenever you hear someone call it a "bear" you shout
"It's not a bear its a Grizzly" then take a shot. You will be drunker than a skunk believe me and it is fun for some people.:p
The bear's demise at the end was great and I laughed my ass off, I had to rewind it and watch it a few times. From what I read on IMDB I am not alone in that particular activity.
This movie also stars
Christopher George and I enjoy most of his movies he is a good actor.
Some people say this is a Jaws rip off. The only thing in this movie that comes close to Jaws is the three main men are similar to that of the three men of Jaws. I still enjoyed this movie much. I suggest if you have not seen it to check it out! Has anyone else seen this?;)

I looked around for this film for close to 5 years, and then one day I just happened to be in a Lumbo Video here in town and there it was, right under my nose.

I liked this film alot, although the VHS copy I rented was in pretty poor shape, so the viewing was difficult at times. Over all, one of the better "nature gone wild" films.

Good times for me

Ok, funny story....um ...I'm a huge bear........supporter/hater......as long as they are far, far away.......I'm ok....ummm - when I first saw Grizzly televised on the ABC movie of the week some, say 22 yrs ago I was at home. My grandmother was in the kitchen doing the dishes. I was alone in the living room when it came on. It was at night. I stayed to watch it cause the teaser right before the movie made it look cool. So it came on.....and within in the first 15 minutes I was quickly bolting out of the room wanting my gram gram to come back and not leave me alone. I WAS ACTUALLY freaked out at the opening!!! It disturbed me!!!!I was shaken!! I was also really embarrassed cause I let something on tv, edited for tv for chris'sake BOTHER me and I was getting a little old to be scared by a movie!! I was at least 12!!!
My grandmother when she was me was like
' what's wrong? Are you ok?' "yea, I just thought, y'know maybe you needed help in the kitchen? "
' No, No honey I'm fine. You go watch your movie'
"Um.....could you stay out here?' What a whimp!
It-it bothered almost as much....as....as the INSIDE OUT BEAR from Prophecy!!! AAHH!!! AAHHH!!! REALLY!!!

To this day, if that movie is on...I kinda purposely avoid the opening. Ashamedly, I turn the channel or once again bolt into the other room. Yes,yes I know. Big pussy. *sigh* Very pathetic. But there's something about a very primal child like fear that STAYS with you WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY into your 30's that automatically comes out and makes you go all fetal at the mere sight of the cause of it!

OH, it's also ironic that you bring with post up when a bear activist was just killed by a................................grizzley.
Seriously, look on the news on msn or yahoo.

Was the "flying arm" still in the TV edit? Was the "leg" scene still in the the edit? What gore was in the edit and what wasn't?
You say you still purposely avoid the opening. That just like I wanted to avoid the part of E.T. where the 2 scary fingers were pulling down the branch in the opening. For some reason those fingers just scared the hell out of me.

" Jaws With Claws " as it said on the UK poster .
Great litle film from William Girdler who also made Day Of The Animals and Manitou .
Fun then and still fun now .
