PALTROW OPENS UP ABOUT BRAD & BEN

Gywneth Paltrow has opened up about her former boyfriends Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck for the first time in an emotional TV interview.

The actress has revealed all to broadcaster Diane Sawyer, who landed last year's big exclusive with Whitney Houston, admitting for the first time she regrets splitting up with one-time fiance Pitt. The couple split in December 1996.

She reveals, "I just made a big mess out of it."

And when Sawyer asks, "Did you hurt him?" Paltrow mumbles, "Yeah."

The actress continues, "I was very upset for a long, long time. I felt really bad about myself for a long time -- probably a good five years. I felt really responsible, and also like I was the architect of my own misery.

"I'm so lucky that I spent time with Brad, especially when I was such a mess."

Paltrow, who is now dating Coldplay star Chris Martin, also tells Sawyer she's far from surprised that her ex Affleck didn't go through with his wedding to Jennifer Lopez.

She adds, "Ben makes life tough for himself. He's got a lot of complication. He really is a great guy so I hope that he sorts himself out."

She has a movie called Sylvia opening in NY/LA on October 17 and will then expand to other cities later.

i've never been a fan of hers. she always seemed like a pretentious snob to me. i saw some of the interview where she talked about brad, which to me was pretty tacky considering that he's happily married, some things ya just need to keep to yourself. :o

A very interesting interview! I ouldn't beleive she opened up about these two guys after being quiet for so long- kind of embarrassing in my opinion, but I have to admit, I enjoyed the dish. :D
She really dissed Ben, saying he makes life more complicated than he has to. Also Diane Sawyer referrred to an old qoute of Gwen's where she said she had been engaged with one man (Brad) and then later involved with a knucklehead for a few years. Sawyer said- "Were you reffering to Ben?" Gwenyth wouldn't say, but Sawyer reminded us that Gwen and Ben had dated for a few years.

One funny part of the interview was where Sawyer showed an old clip of Gwen and Ben and when she asked Gwen who Ben's idea of the ideal woman would be, she replied something like a waitress at Hooters or a girl in a wet tee shirt. She also said her and Ben could NEVER have made a go of it, even if Ben believed differently cause he makes life too hard for himself and they had too many fundamental differences.

Brad really must be a hell of a guy. He is extremely good looking, and yet he chooses to be in long committed relationships instead of sleazing it up all over town. None of his ex girlfriends have anything bad to say about him in the press. That right there says a lot. He really epitomizes cool.
