View Full Version : Help with a movie I saw in the 80's

In approx '86 (in the US) I saw a movie that disturbed me. I am on a quest to figure out the name of the movie. What I remember: a russian roulette scene and a scene where a deadly insect was let loose with the intention of killing someone. I recently saw Intacto and it made me think of this movie. If anyone knows the name of it please let me know.

Was it The Deer Hunter? The russian roulette scene sticks out in my mind.

Although I have not seen The Deer Hunter (it is on my list to see now) I believe that was a war movie. The movie I am trying to locate is a movie about chance. The people in the movie belong to some kind of cult/following where they risk death. most scenes were a game where one person dies and the others advance.

That only reminds me of Intacto, but it's obviously not the movie you're looking for. Was it VERY similar? Maybe plagiarism?

I know that. I was just asking 'Bullet In The Head'? to see if anyone knew the right answer to MY question.

The answer was 3, by the way, but you guys would not have known that since the question was in my frontal lobe, where I keep things hidden.;)

No it wasn't Bullet in the Head. Nor Intacto; Intacto jogged my memory of the movie. Thanks for your time. Hopefully somebody will stumble across this thread and know the name of the movie.

Is it Death Wish Club (1983)?

The plot: A porno actress, Greta, and her jealous producer boyfriend work at a carnival. She falls in love with a younger man, and her boyfriend kidnaps them and forces them to participate in a "suicide club." Members go through "Russian roulette"-styled hazing rituals involving a giant wasp, electric chairs, etc. where one member is killed. If Greta and her lover live, then the boyfriend will let them go.

I think this might be it. Unfortunately, I have not found any pics online to prove/disprove. Another question... In this movie, do you remember a scene where this girl dies and she is being taken to the hospital and the doctor is kind of coming on to her. He makes statments like she is so beautiful and I think her upper thigh is showing??? I know this sounds odd, but it is helpful.

I haven't seen it - I just did a Power Search on IMDb and that was the title that sounded the most like the one you're looking for.
