just watched halloween1&2 ...it kills friday the thirteen1&2

sup everyone last nite i watch halloween1 and 2 again cuz i havent watched it in a long time and a couple days ago i watch friday the thirteenth 1 and 2....geez halloween is juss killen friday the thirteenth halloweens much more scarier,youll get more jumps in it lol,youll get into the movie much more than friday the thirteenth ,mike myers is much more scarier than jason in my view..geez why didnt they put miek myers against freddy woulda been much better ...anyways i wanna know what u guys think of halloween 1 and 2 compared to friday the thirteenth 1 and 2 ..in my opinion halloween is much better so far...what do u guys think??

I think that, even though they're both slasher franchises, this is like comparing apples and oranges. Of the big 3 (Nightmare, Halloween, Friday), the Halloween series always tried to remain the most grounded and suspenseful, for better or worse. The Nightmare series was always the more stylistic of the three. The Friday series was like a garage band... loud, brutal, stripped-down, and basic (still my fave, though). Each has its appeal and downsides, though.

I agree that the first 2 Halloweens are great. 2 is indeed lacking compared to 1, but thats expeted because John Carpenter is not behind the camera this time directing the film.

I think the Halloween series on story wise is better than the F13 series but I think F13, compared to some Halloweens, are more entertaining. I hate Halloweens 4-6 because they tried something serious but just made it come out lame, where as Fridays 4, 6, and 7, ignored having a serious plot and just went with blood and Jason hacking everyone up all the time. :)

i agree in comparision that the first 2 halloweens are MUCH better then the first 2 Fridays...the first friday sucked to me,and 2 was fun and suspenseful at times,and pretty fun,but halloween 2 was just classic...

Yeah I prefer the Halloween films over the Friday the 13ths. The halloween films are more than just all out braindead gore and nudity they actually try to be suspensful and have good storylines.

I agree that Halloween 1 & 2 blow the first two Friday the 13th's away. And I liked how CrazyKillah described it. And that's how Ive felt all along. Halloween is more grounded and suspenceful. A Nightmare on Elm Street is stylized and more fantasy oriented. And Friday the 13ths are slashers, gory and un-realistic. Now, Halloween series is my favorite but I respect all of them for what they contain and what they are meant to do. Im not gonna go into a Friday the 13th looking for a plotline and character development. Just as Im not gonna walk into a Halloween looking for mindless-fun and gore. I just wish more people would realize that.

yep i completly agree with u and CrazyKillah...but just because two movies are different doesnt mean u cant compare and say witch one is better i just wanted to know if people thought the same as me in halloween 1 and 2 being better the friday 1 and 2

ill agree with you on that one. halloween 1-2 are much better. BUT i think we could all agree friday the 13th 3 dominates halloween 3.:p

No, I know. I'm all for comparing movies of different series and meanings. Im just saying people should just keep in mind of the different "themes" of the series. But, I enjoy comparing these movies.

Friday the 13th and Halloween. Two of my favorite movies. Not best movies, but favorites. Halloween proudly sits atop my top 100 at number 50, with a respectable 9.5/10, and I love it. Friday the 13th get's a 6/10, because it's bad but I love that movie.... TKAMB is still my favorite though. Halloween 2.... 5/10 is bad, but blows F132 away, because currently that movie (F132) sits upon my top 100 most hated movies of all time. :)

Hey, Halloween 2 aint even bad at all. i dont understand it either. way better than Friday 2. although friday2 had some nice TnA moments. other than that, crap. At least the Halloween series started out with a story line of sorts, unlike Friday series which had to make stuff up. And no, Halloween 3 was better than that friday3D crap.
But (sigh) im still a slave to these movies though.

Because Jason is more of a fun ass kicker and Micheal is a serious en scary icon.

Besides, since Micheal is pure evil in the skin of a man, it would be clear who'd win before the movie started.

The first Halloween is about 100 times better than the original Friday The 13th, but I like Friday the 13th 2 better than Halloween 2.

Well I can say I am a fan of the F13th serie but it is true that F13th 1 and 2 are not best of the serie I prefer much much more :

1. F13th 6
2. F13th 4
3. F13th 7
