Saw that myself...I bought Dawn Of The Dead recently and I wasn't impressed...great commentary by Tom Savini tho. They need to bring out a special edition of that.

So you'd recommend Day Of The Dead?

I got Die Hard With A Vengence and Unbreakable £10.99 each for 2 Disc sets.

My god
Jurassic Park 1 and 2 boxset for £14.

One question if they can sell them this cheap at sale time and still make a profit why not sell DVDs at this price all year round

Bullet Tooth Tony - I love Romero's Dead Trilogy so I just had to get Day on DVD (I've got THREE versions of Night - the original B&W version, the 30th Anniversay edition with the extra footage (which sucks BTW) and Savini's remake) and the 2 disc Dawn import (which is great!)

However, if you weren't that impressed with Dawn, then you probably won't be that impressed with Day. They're very similar films thematically (and to an extent visually) so chances are you'll either like both or neither.

But for £8, it's only like 2 rentals from Blockbuster so if you're even remotely interested then I'd say go for it! (After all, you could always sell it on eBay later....)

I love Dawn the movie, I just thought the DVD (full frame) was pretty shabby. I will get Day cause like you said £8 don't get you much these days plus its a great movie.

Cheers.

HMV always have great sales. I've bought about half my collection for about £10 a piece from them. I got Stand By Me, Die Hard With A Vengeance, Manhunter and Replicant for £9.99 and L.A. Confidential for £5.99 last week. I might pick up Heat and The Man Who Wasn't There this week too.

I was in HMV Edinburgh today and found Training day for £13.99. This is a new film with good extras, how come it is £13.99 when most other dvds of it's kind are £19.99

Ever feel like you've been cheated?

I don't, when I film that good is at such a cheap price for a DVD then I would buy it.

I saw Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn in York for £15.99, hell I thought it was pretty cheap for a DVD but I couldn't buy it (not enough money) man that really steamed me up.

Just picked up The Limey for £9.99. Great movie, great disc and a great price, but did the bastards have to put 15 assorted security tags and price stickers directly onto the amaray case?? Isn't that what those fiddly fucking plastic wrappers are for?? The case looks like it's been raped by a roll of cellotape!

Picked up Devil's Advocate, Strangers On A Train and The Big Sleep for 6 quid each today. Also got Rope and The Third Man for a tenner each. 7 quid for Life Of Brian, but I gave it a miss cos I here the transfer is crap.

There are some seriously good DVD sales at the minute. Last time I was in HMV they had buy one get one free on. I'll definetely check out the new sale.
I work in Woolworths and the other day I sold someone the Terminator1 two disc SE and the silence of the lambs SE for only £16. That's £8 a DVD! I just hope these sales continue...although my collection might get a bit big and cripple me financially. ah who cares? :P
