Bahahaha! LA County CPS took her daughter, Francis Bean away, giving custody to her paternal grandmother for the time being. Good! That kid would be better of if she were raised by a pack of wolves, or even Arkansas trailer trash! Courtney needs serious help, and is a sleazy nut bag. Anyone agree?

I'm not making excuses for her behaviour. She's made her fair share of mistakes. However, why is it that her behaviour receives nothing but criticism and scorn whilst her male equivalent in the rock'n'roll universe would be admired for their misbehavior? Not by everyone...but often. Double standards suck.

She is the sole caregiver and provider for a very young child.
If a male were in the same situation, I'd be just as down on him.

Where did Courtney go wrong when she went up to the high food chain a celebrity class and fall back down to where she started out as? She amazed me when I was browsing thru pics of her in '97 when she did the People v. Larry Flynt & Man on The Moon. But in 2000 she was a presenter at an Emmy Awards show I believe and had that hideous dress that look like Freddy Kruger helped out in designing and you could tell that she was on something because facial expressions NEVER lie. And seeing her in Trapped. Oh boy....
Its a Saaad thought that she is just thinking of herself.

I can't comment with conviction whether or not Love deserved to have her child taken away based on her parenting since I've never seen her around her kid. Though hopefully her seperation will mean that the average amount of drug overdoses a year will go from about 5 to 3

Heh...good to know crazy ho-bag celebrities can be good moms too. ;)
If you don't mind, Dixiecup, could you provide a source for this story. I don't doubt you have one, it's just that this is a serious matter and it covers our asses, so to speak.

This was reported on Access Hollywood so it is true.
As for Courtney Love, I won't comment because I don't know much about it and I don't think it's anything to joke about IMO. It's pretty sad.

Cool, thanks.
Here's an interesting story:
COURTNEY FIGHTS FOR CUSTODY OF DAUGHTER
Troubled Courtney Love yesterday began a court battle to keep custody of her 11-year-old daughter Francis Bean Cobain.
The former Hole frontwoman appeared before Los Angeles Juvenile Court yesterday to determine whether she is mentally capable of caring for her daughter by late Nirvana star Kurt Cobain.
Local social services officials placed Frances Bean in the care of her paternal grandmother Wendy O'Connor after Love was arrested on a misdemeanor drug charge on October 2.
But the rocker disputes allegations she abandoned her child because on that night Frances "was asleep at home with her live-in nanny."
Love admits she was "slapped with a 5150" on October 10 -- a Californian law that allows authorities to evaluate a person for 72 hours if they're believed to be a danger to the public or themselves.
The rock singer claims the officials were worried she might commit suicide, like her late husband.

The paternal grandmother- Kurt Colbains mother--they gave the child to her after the way he was raised by her? Didn't he leave home? Maybe I am thinking of the wrong biography. Guess so.

I agree.
She's a terrible mother, a skank and she's also a skank. She's also a junkie. She's also ugly. The ugly part doesn't really have anything to do with me hating her or her being a horrible mom but I thought it was worth mentioning anyway seeing as she's uglier than most people.
She's also a pretty rotten human being judging just by those mean-spirited comments she made about Salma Hayek when Edward Norton & Salma were dating.
Hopefully her child will be better off in care of someone else. Actually, Frances Bean could be taken care of by prison inmates and she'd be better off. It's not too late for her to have a nice childhood, just keep her away from her biological mother.
Oh, I forgot to mention that she's a skank.
Thank you. :)

Sad. Just sad. Ms. Love needs some serious help. One parent regularly uses narcotics and potentially OD's. The other parent kills himself. And it's taken THIS LONG for the state to intervene. That poor kid deserves so much better. :(

Further evidence of Love's superior maternal skills.
Look sweetie! Overdosing can be fun!
Courtney Love comforted her 11-year-old daughter during her recent drug overdose, by trying to make the experience "fun". The 39-year-old former Hole frontwoman accidentally overdosed on narcotic Oxycontin at her Beverly Hills home earlier this month - hours after being arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Love regrets that Frances Bean, her daughter with late Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain, was with her when she overdosed, but maintains she tried to make the experience as relaxed as possible - as they waited for an ambulance to arrive. She says, "That's the only time my daughter has ever, ever, ever pitched in on one of my little crises. I made it fun. I said it was going to be gross and I was going to have to make myself throw up but it was going to be OK." Since the incident, Frances has been placed in the care of Cobain's mother Wendy O'Connor - after the singer lost a bitter custody battle. O'Connor has questioned Love's ability as a mother - but the singer insists the overdose was a minor glitch. She adds, "I'm not on some downward spiral. I'm not on narcotics. I'm fine. I just want my daughter back."

That is absolutely disgusting. Frances Bean deserves so much better. Courtney Love is such a goddam waste case. The sad thing is that the kid knows and loves this version of her mother and Courtney is pissing that love away, not to mention her daughter's childhood. Courtney is too messed up and self-absorbed to stop and watch her daughter grow. Pathetic, sad, disturbing, fucked up woman.

Not in this life you dumbass! There is a better chance that Cobain is resurrected and records a rap record.

Agreed. They need to remove that child from the house and put them into custody of someone who can take care of them and not overdose while they are closeby. It's just fucking ridiculous. If Courtney Love wasn't a celebrity, her kid would have been placed into foster care years ago. Just because someone has money doesn't mean they should be allowed to keep a child that clearly they lack the skills to mother. It's sickening.

Poor kid should have been taken from that sleaze-ho years ago.

I heard about this story last week. Courtney love is a sick, vile, worthless human being who should be dragged out into the streets and shot ... except that it would serve the unjustice of forcing Kurt Cobain to have to look at her again. If she dared to do something this horrible to my child, she would beg for another chance to die of an overdose. Her daughter being taken away was the best thing that could possibly happened to this child -- surely she's been through enough already.

It's very easy to hate her and say she is a vile, worthless human being. But it's the drugs that are probably taking over her life. Personally, I don't hate her. I feel sorry for her. She obviously needs help and I hope she gets it.

I'm a recovering addict myself. The drugs can "take over your life", but you CAN decide to stop. I have no pity for her. She shouldn't be allowed to see her child without authorities present.

I personally find the whole debacle extremely fucking SAD.
Courtney needs some serious guidance...her young daughter needs a stable family unit of sorts.
I pity Love...and only hope she gets the help she desperately needs.
Good luck to the pair of 'em.

I agree with what Grebdron stated. You can't help those that don't want to help themselves. That's the saddest part of all.

I'm not saying she should be able to see her child without authorities. I was only saying that people shouldn't be so judgmental. And most of times addicts need to hit rock bottom before they finally see that they need help. Courtney Love has clearly not hit rock bottom yet.

But what is rock bottom? I think she should have her child taken because hitting rock bottom might traumatize (as well as harm) Frances Bean and it might kill Courtney. I don't think hitting rock bottom is what she needs.

Once again I am not saying her child should be taken away. All I was saying was calling Love a worthless human being is a bit harsh when it is the drugs taken care of.
Hell, maybe taking her kid away will not only be good for the kid but for her as well. Maybe she'll finally try and kick the habbit so she can see her kid. Doubtful though. She seems to be in denial that she has a problem.
