I hope he doesn't stop acting, he's very, very good! If he wants to do the music and acting at the same time, OK.

DOWNEY JR TO RELEASE MUSIC?

Troubled actor Robert Downey Jr. dreams of quitting Hollywood to become a musician.

The "Chaplin" star has been recording his own music for two decades and still believes his destiny lies behind the mic, rather than on stage or screen.

Downey Jr. says, "I like singing and I'm good at it. That's valid and real. I'm not trying to be part of something I'm not, that's part of who I am.

"I write music and I've composed for 21 years now, and that's something. I don't want to say unrequited, but maybe underdeveloped.

"I'd like to branch out into something more authentic, more autobiographical. And you know, I feel like I've got nothing but time now."

I hope he doesn't quit acting either. He's a great actor and I'm looking forward very much to The Singing Detective.

Same here. Great cast, kick-ass Robert Downey Jr. in a leading role (he deserves it, he's good), a bald Mel Gibson...where do I put my John Hancock?
