View Full Version : movies that should be on DVD

What films deserve the DVD treatment (commentary, deleted scenes, etc)that haven't been released yet. My list reads as follows:
The Goonies- Think about it. You get Feldman on a commentary track. That alone is priceless. Maybe a sequel will be greenlit after incredible sales. I mean, its not like the actors beside Astin have anything better to do.
Wayne's World 1 and 2- The only good SNL movie (and sequel). What is Paramount waiting for.
Even though the're already out, Goodfellas and The Shining deserve collector's editions (although I did hear the Kubrick collection is being re-released)

(in a game show announcer voice):
"John Q. Public, this my good man, is your LUCKY day and because we love you so much, we've decided to grant you your DVD wish!"
Dude, it's funny you should mention The Goonies because we over at the DVD Clinic JUST received word that The Goonies will be released on DVD on August 21st!
Extras include:
Commentary with Director Richard Donner adn the 7 actors (kids, now grown up) from the movie.
Making Of The Goonies Documentary
Cyndi Lauper Music Video "Goonies R Good Enough II"
Deleted Scenes
Theatrical Trailer
Should be very cool, I also absolutely love this movie.

STRANGE BREW!!!!!!! They need to have an audio commmentary by Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas in their Bob and Doug MacKenzie voices. That would be great! It's one of the classic 80's comedies that has achieved cult status. Take off you Hoser /ubb/smile.gif

Other than the staples "SW," "E.T.," and "Indiana Jones," I also desperately want to see the following on DVD:
1) "Miller's Crossing"- my favorite Coen film
2) "The Whole Wide World"- w/ Vincent D'Onofrio & Renee Zellweger
3) "The Ref"- Denis Leary & Kevin Spacey
4) "King of the Hill"- Soderbergh's third film; my favorite of his
5) "To Catch a Thief"- my favorite Hitchcock
6) "Jackie Brown"- QT's underrated "Pulp" follow-up
7) "Stalker"- Haunting Andrei Tarkovsky fantasy
Also, new discs for the following:
1) "Pulp Fiction"- The Special Collector's VHS I have has more extras than this lame-ass DVD edition, which is why I've put off buying it.
2) "Face/Off"- the transfer's great, but it needs extras.
3) "GoodFellas"- The flip disc has me putting off buying it.
4) "Basic Instinct"- Where's the director's cut? Where are the extras? The current disc blows.
5) "Swingers"- I have it on DVD now, but put some features on the film (and commentary by Doug Liman, Jon Favreau, and Vince Vaughn) and I'll buy it again.

and The Fisher King

Hey! Maybe if you guys talk about DVD's that you want to come out long enough, the movie companies will listen to you, and make them DVDs!
Or maybe they won't....
I'm betting on number 2.

I would LOVE for the film "Delicatessen" to come out on DVD. I'm kind of surprised that "The City Of Lost Children" (one of my favorite films of all time) which was made by the same filmmakers is available, but there seems to be no plan to release the earlier film on DVD.

GRIZZMAN3, good call on Orgazmo! That movie is destined to be a mindless comedy classic someday. I'd love to see it on DVD; I'm surprised Troma didn't pick it up along with Cannibal! The Musical (another classic, btw).

I am a BIG WRESTLING fan i would like to see box sets of all the ppvs for example,
a box set of:
all the Royal Rumbles
all the Summer Slams
all the servivor series
all the wretlemanias
it would be great if they would release every pav per view since the start of WWE pay per view on on box set- i would pay good money for that - but i think i am the only one.
