Hey Jo, Im interested in going to Comic Con next year and have some questions that perhaps even other schmoes would like answered.

1. How big is the place? Is it hell walking around?
2. How many people showed up last year?
3. Are the autograph sessions accessible? Like are Kevin Smith and others easy to get or do they cut you off? Are actors walking around in booths and stuff, I heard Cerina Vincent was at a booth or something last year?
4. Can anyone goto the movie panels?
5. How much does it cost (US) to stay for 4-5 days(hotel)?
6. Is the weather usually nice?
7. Is preview night anything special?
8. How much of a presence does film make at Comic Con? Is there plenty for a film fan or is almost totally a Comic Book thing?

Thanks in advance, I may have more later :)

I'm not Jo but I've gone the last few years since I live there so I thought I would answer a few of your Q's for fun :)

1. It's pretty damn huge. There is alot of walking but theres so much fun stuff to look at that it flies by.

2. Check that web site he posted for the exact numbers but it usually wasn't too crowded except for saturday. Saturday was a fucking madhouse due to the droves of Angeline Jolie fans rioting around the place.

3. Big Names like Kevin Smith are hard to get into due to their large fan base. Usually a line starts lining up way before big celberties ever get there. Bit there are plenty of cool lesser known clebs hanging around that you can meet and get autographs from. One of my highpoints from last year was talking to ken foree for like 15 minutes about different stories he was telling me.

4. Anyone can go to the movie panels and most are easy to get inot except saturdays of last years. THere were so many big names that the ballroom was maxed out early on and noone was leaving so it was hard to get in. There are many different other rooms giving presentations throughout the weekend and it's fun to pick and choose between them.

5. Hmmm can't say since I live here I don't check the hotel rates. To stay in the downtown area during con time might be a little pricey.

6. It's San Diego. Usually it's sunny and maybe a bit hot around that time.

7. Only if you are there to buy stuff. There are usually no presenters just booths giving people first run of their stuff.

8. Film is taking over a huge part of it. So much that comic book fans are whining that movies are begining to way overshadow the comic scene there. Oh boo hoo. I found something every day to look foward to seeing about movies.

In closing I just want to say that every year I've gone it's been a blast. I've met many people who I admire in the film industry as well as picked up all sorts of nifty collectable things. So check it out if you feel the urge. :)
