Faster! Play Faster!
I can't believe that everyone in this movie can play piano. Every time someone gets up from it, someone else sits down and starts playing!
The real scary thing about it is that it's an actual propaganda film.

Didn't the US government actually fund this movie. I should buy it one of these times, it's only $7.

Nah buy the DVD at Best Buy for 4.99. It is not worth more than that. It is ok, some funny parts but you get bored after awhile. And Yes some dude does rape a girl after one puff.
This movie was made buy the FBI as a public announcement to people sort of like those gross movies they show you when you take Drivers Ed. It became a sort of cult classic by people in the 70's. This movie was actually made in the 1930's.

Reefer Madness, is Dr. Carroll, who at a parent teacher assoication meeting at the local school tells about marijuana and the deadliness behind it. Dr. Carroll, first tells about the drug and how it is made and shipped around North America, and then tells the story of a high school student named Bill, who at a party in a drug dealer couple's apartment gets involved in marijuana and how he starts to laugh during school, isn't acting the same and almost kills someone while driving very fast on the road. Court comes later and the jury has to decide what to do with Bill, and is it his fault or the fault of the marijuana drug. Reefer Madness, was made in 1938 as an educational film to teach you about marijuana and was meant to be totally serious but now the film and it's messages seem rediculous to people so they just laugh at it like a comedy. Most video stores also have it under the comedy section. Years later it became a cult hit and was called so bad that it's good and people would also call it hilarious and most cult film fans call it a most for those interested in cult films. I did enjoy Reefer Madness, for several reasons which I will name. I have always been fascinated with the study of drugs and mind altering substances, I like campy and bad acted films and the film can be funny at times with some the exaggerations said about marijuana and also some of the incorrect information given about the drug. When, I say I enjoy bad acting I'm saying I only enjoy them in cult and campy movies because it adds to the fun and if there was great acting in a film like this or any other B cult movie then it would ruin the movie and the star. Now something like Signs (yes I'm going to insult this film yet again), that isn't a cult film or campy but it has awful acting and I didn't enjoy the film at all and the bad acting didn't help. Perhaps, I'am just ranting on with no real meaning to back up what I'am saying which most likely is true but that is how I feel and many cult movies fans I have asked agree with me one hundred percent on this statement. So for you diehard cult films fan see Reefer Madness, it would be a crime against you for not seeing it.

The actual story behind the creation of this flick is pretty interesting. William Randolph Hearst was one of the leading manufacturers of paper in those days, when all of a sudden the many uses of hemp were becoming better known. Hemp paper was cheaper and all-around better than the average kind manufactured by Hearst and many others. In order to save his business from the threat of Hemp paper being largely distributed, Hearst demonized the plant and had this film, along with several others, made. So, if you want someone to blame for creating the bad rap on weed, blame William Randolph Hearst (posthumously, of course).
