Wolfen

Hello everyone. I finally saw "Wolfen" on TV last weekend and I thought it was very good compared to most of the other werewolf movies there are. I was confused, though, by the events of the final scene of the movie. After the wolves had jumped through the glass and surrounded Dewey, what did he throw/break to make the wolves content to not attack him and vanish. I totally missed what happened, and would greatly appreciate if someone could tell me exactly what happened and what it meant, as it's been on my mind for over a week now.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry I don't remember a lot of it, expect it was a good movie and a bite unusual.
I like the wolf - POV a lot.

firstly; wolfen is NOT a werewolf film. It could be classed more as a nature revenge type film.

The people killed at the beginning were starting a building developing an area of the bronx which, according to the legend mentioned in the film, were the breeding/hunting grounds of the wolfen.

Dewey was the officer in charge of investigating the deaths of these people.

After the wolfen had surrounded dewey he smashed a model of the development which was on the table showing the wolfen that he did not like the development and presumably would like the area stay the way it is for the wolfen to live.

That's my quick say on the ending. If anyone else has a different view please tell:)

Well according to everyone on the DVD documentary of Wolfen it is considered a werewolf movie. It was intended that the audience not know it was a Werewolf movie until after a few weeks of its release. It was an advertising scheme.

Of course there are always those who call movies something else for some reason.
Just like Peter Wellar on the Of Unknown Origin commentary. He would not dare call it a horror film but a "Spiritual Thriller". To each their own I guess.:D
