Fire starter and The Entity
I've seen clips of these over the years and I just wanted some opinions?

oh boy,
Firestarter
With Drew Barrymore I assume? Well havent seen the movie in its entirety of if if did. Its been awhile since I have seen it. A lot of Stephen King novels turned movies were popping up in theaters left & right during the 80's. All I can say is that the movie has it moments.
The Entity
Another movie I haven't seen since who knows when. Barbara Hershey gets taken over by spirits or something? A not so great movie but somewhat decent I say.

The original Firestarter with Drew Barrymore is underrated. I found it a compelling little story that should be given more value.

Firestarter- basically any horror flick with George C. Scott is worth seeing and it pretty good.
The Entity- the better of the two. A women is raped by an unknown force in her home. Very nerve racking and not a "fun" movie.

The Entity is a really excellent film, with a really disturbing yet very real subject matter. A woman who is constantly raped by a demon almost every night of her life. The rape sequences are really schocking and enhanced by the music.
Its got some good performances and a good story. Kinda similar to films like The Amytiville Horror and The Exorcist in that its strength is not in what it shows but in what it doesnt, and that it is based on a true story.

Coincidentally, I recently bought The Entity on DVD and saw it last night. Personally I didn't really find it scary, but it's certainly a good film, and watching it in the dark with headphones gets you quite involved in it. You feel sympathy for Barbara Hershey's character, who inevitably people initially think is suffering from mental problems that stem from insecurities about sexual relationships and such. (Spoiler): Then at the end, you hear the 'entity's voice' call her a "cunt"! I wasn't expecting that..!

WOW! I didn't expect such a big response. Thanks. I think I'll rent both now.
Although,
Kinda similar to films like The Amytiville Horror and The Exorcist
I loved The Exorcist but I hated The Amityville Horror, I was very disappointed in it after I had heard so much hype about it. I was expecting it to be one of the great classic horror movies, like the original 1974 version of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but after I finished watching it, I felt The Simpsons Halloween skit of it was scarier.
Still, thanks for the input.
