View Full Version : Kutcher's 'Punk'd' Show Goes Too Far

From IMDB:

Ashton Kutcher's hit prank show Punk'd is beginning to turn nasty with Missy Elliott and Tommy Lee refusing to see the funny side of their humiliation. Kutcher was seen rushing to prevent violence from erupting in a jewelry store when a practical joke on rap star Elliott turned sour in Sunday night's second season premiere. Elliott threatened to smash glass casing in the store when she was told a diamond-encrusted cross she was having cleaned had been misplaced. And fans of the show will see an annoyed Tommy Lee attacking Kutcher's Punk'd camera crew after he discovers he's the victim of a practical joke on next week's MTV show. One prank on Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro from the first season of the show still hasn't been aired because it turned nasty.

This news makes me feel like this: people need to lighten up and get a sense of humor. Practical jokes are just that, jokes. When they are over, and you realize what has happened, you laugh, you dont get pissed off at someone. If anything get pissed at yourself for falling for it. God society has become really uptight lately. LIGHTEN UP AND LAUGH PEOPLE!

I can understand their anger. Being the butt of a prank is one thing, but the butt of a prank by Ashton Kutcher, with his shit eating grin? I'd go fucking ballistic if that happened, especially when it's televised

well Im sure they have senses of humor but having watched the show a few times, his pranks are cruel at best, not funny, so Im glad these celebrities are getting a bit pissed, hopefully MTV cans his f***ing show......

Practical jokes are fun and all but I don't blame Elliot for getting pissed off. Shit I would be madder than hell if I went into a store to pick up a peice of jewelry that was getting fixed and they said that they had misplaced it. You'd be able to see the steam coming from my ears as you can bet she probably spent a pretty peny on that necklace.

Like I said earlier practical jokes are amusing and sometimes fun but when you involve money oh man you bet your ass that whoever is getting the joke played on them is not going to be a happy camper nor see the humor.

Ever think that maybe, just maybe, not everyone enjoys being the brunt of someone elses joke? Especially some assclown like Ashton Kutcher.

But what's the big deal? They have a practical joke played on them and then they all have a laugh about it. I don't see why people have to take themselves so seriously. It's not like someone said "Surprise, your daughter has been killed! Just kidding"

True, but having watched a lot of episodes of Punk'd, I can see why they'd be utterly pissed off. Some of what they do is just plain cruel, and although not quite to the level of "Your family was slaughtered! Not!" it's still pretty easy to see why someone like Elliot would be pissed off

Cause she's a fucking bitch with no sense of humor?

I hate Kutcher, and I hate that show, but damn. They need to get over themselves and realize that it's nothing more than more exposure for them, which is what all those media whores want.

I'm sure she's only pissed because she came off like a raving fucking lunatic when somebody "lost" her precious bling-bling.

Fucking cunt.

id go apeshit on Mr Kutcher for just trying this shit, the commerical is equally annoying with ashton screaming as he usually does IIIIII WANT MY MTVVVVVV. He shouldnt have been fucking around with Tommy Lee after years and years of photographer abuse, why wouldnt he take out Kutchers camera crew, the man hates cameras.

yeah but all practical jokers need to also realize whats good for the goose is good for the gander, in this case let me point us back to the episode where the crew of Punk'd tried to get at Ashton, and then Ashton threw a shit fit because ''we agreed no pranks on me'', now even though ashton was ultimately throwing their punk right back at them, it shows just how pathetic Ashton is to get mad when he is given a little of his own medicine, hence.......HANG THE ASSCLOWN!!!

I'll try to lok past how much I hate Kutcher, and think more about how much I hate this show based on its' attempt at 'humor'.

I love shows like TRIGGER HAPPY TV, because they'll (usually) make jokes that don't rely on malicious intent, opposed to a show such as SCARE TACTICS, which in my opinion is an even WORSE example of 'funny pranks' than PUNK'D.

I watch a minute or two of the PUNK'D show and wonder how I would feel if I was in the victims' situation. I would typically be pretty damned pissed, and I wouldn't be much happier knowing it was for a prank TV show (especially if Kutcher was hosting it, but I said I wouldn't mention him). I like humor as much as the next guy, and I'm one of those people at work who goes out of their way for a laugh, but I would NEVER pull a prank on someone that I wouldn't like to have done to me. I hate PUNK'D because it is basically about trying to get under peoples' skin, or they try to get them in a situation that is perceptively dangerous or harmful for the sake of comedy, when in real life there's no WAY that someone would find humor in the given situation. I don't blame most of the actors for being upset, and just like them, I wouldn't find it 'funny'. At all.
At least PUNK'D isn't as bad as SCARE TACTICS. I think ST is the lowest of the low. If I was in some of those victims' situations, there's a good chance I would have killed one of the actors trying to scare me. I'm not joking. I take my life seriously, and if I felt that it was in danger - or someone I cared for was in danger - I'd do what it takes to survive. SCARE TACTICS is not a funny or whitty show in the least.
PUNK'D deserves the hostility it creates. I would refuse to accept the airing of an episode with me in it if I didn't think the prank done on me was funny. Fuck them. Just because I'm a celebrity doesn't make it easier to accept; in fact, that makes it worse in some ways.

I don't blame these people for getting pissed. I put myself in their position, and I wouldn't think it was funny.
I love to get a laugh, too, but I try not to dish out what I wouldn't like to take in.

I agree.

I have only seen that show once, but in the episode I saw, I was very surprised that no one ended up getting hurt. I dont understand who could have possibly thought that a show like this is a good idea. If someone was threatening me, and I thought my life was in danger, I would surely react very harshly and would do anything thing I could to get out of danger.

It seems like it will only be a matter of time before something goes horribly wrong with that show.

To a much lesser extent, same with Punked same with JackAss etc.

ps 'Girls Behaving Badly' is the best hidden camera prank type show on tv.

Amen, bro. Every time I turn on the TV, there's Ashton, in all of his smug, overexposed glory. I've had about all I can take of that camera-sucking S.O.B. and can totally understand that some celebs would probably be feeling the same way. Missy is a totally cool person and should be respected if she thinks Kutcher went too far. And as nasty as I think Tommy Lee is, good for him for letting Ashton know that it's only fun-n-games till someone gets hurt. Props to both.

Maybe not, but I just saw some snippets of the Justin Timberlake/IRS episode, and let me tell you, it wasn't funny. Being in trouble with the gov't is no laughing matter and I felt really bad for Justin. He looked terrified. I used to be an Ashton Kutcher fan, now he just nauseates me. He's cruel, overexposed, obnoxious and rediculously overrated for talent. But as long as MTV's main demographic is white-trash, juvenile fucks-for-brains, shows like "Punk'd" will pervade.

I read that the term Punked actually refers to a man who goes to prison straight and due to the lack of female stimulation and abundance of male genitalia up the arse, he becomes homosexual. Hrm, I wonder if Ashton Kutcher knows this? If so, I wonder if he chose it as the name of the show for that exact reason.

At least I haven't liked anyone they've "Punk'd" on the shows that I've seen like Timberlake and Kelly Osbourne.

That reminds me of the great Howard Stern sidekick Stuttering John.He asked Ted Williams if he's ever farted in his catcher's face and he tried to strangle John. He's great.

I loved Stuttering John. He was hilarious! LOL There was a classic moment when he asked Donald Trump and Marla Maples if they ever had marshmallows between their butt cheeks. LOL

Donald wanted someone to remove John from the premises.

Just thinking about that...brings a tear to my eye... :D

last night's episode of Scare Tactics for Halloween,
had a throw down going on, on one of the actors
in the show.

The scene was about a crazy hitchhiker,
who was picked up, and they drove around for
a few minutes, when the hitcher decides to ask
to take a piss, so the driver stops the van,
hitcher gets out, takes piss, people in said
van search a bowling ball bag, and find
a severed head, they zip it up.
When the hitcher comes back, he notices
that the bag seems to be opened slightly.
This is when the hitcher takes out a knife,
and stabs the driver who is in on the prank,
his best friend freaked so badly that he swung
with all his might about 15 times at the actor/hitcher,
and then the driver started calling his friends name.
Hitcher says are you scared, friend says yes.
And there you have it. Surprisingly the actor
didn't mind to much about being punched in the
head all that much considering that shit-eating grin
on his face.

A true testement of what a prank gone bad can do.
But atleast the hitcher/actor wasn't slaughtered.

At first I looked at all the shows in jest, it's just for
fun, but after last nights show, well, I can see where
they are coming from.

I agree, that some people do need to lighten up and get a sense of humour, but I think that sometimes, shows like Punk'd take things way too far, and it's not always easy for a person to just dismiss the anger or the emotions they had built up during the prank as soon as it's revealed to be a prank, if you know what I mean.

I think practical jokes are never funny for the person being pranked. The person can end up being very humiliated depending on how they act during the prank. And to be filmed! Candid Camera was pretty innocuous and I also used to think it was funny when Letterman sent out the guy from Hello deli to act ridiculous to get people's reactions, but some of these pranks are mean/cruel.

Did anyone see MadTV last night? They did a great spoof on Punk'd- it was Kenny Rodgers punking Clay Aiken, Sean Williams Scottand Doris Roberts. Pretty hilarious.

I like the show and I like Kutcher. I also love Trigger Happy TV, but the thing is most of those pranks wouldn't work on celebs cause they are just too out there. With the Missy Elliott or Tommy Lee thing, that's something that could actually happen and it catches them off guard. Pretty soon, you'd think more celebs would pick up on it since Punk'd is pretty poopular now, but I would say the MOST of the pranks are in good fun...And I don't really feel bad for Miss Elliott, did you see her standing on the counter and telling the guy she was going to beat him up? So what if Kutcher wants to expose these people for who they are. Justin Timberlake apparently can take a joke, Missy Elliott thinks she is the greatest thing on God's green earth.

So far every person that I've seen get "Punk'd" has had it coming. I've hated all of those fucks that Ashton has punk'd. I would've done the same thing and laughed right into their faces. If you ask me, Ashton's doing what I've always dreamed of. Kicking the self-loving celebrities off their high-horses and letting them fall in the mud with us. Sorry, no sympathy here. You wanna be famous, you're bound to be laughed at.

And, on the topic of Scare Tactics - I think the show is genious. Most of the pranks pulled are pulled by the victim's best friends anyway so whatever. They'll get over it. Plus they get to be on TV. If one of my friends scared the shit out of me and told me it was gonna be on TV I'd shit my pants and french him there on the spot...then get him back later.
