Here is not a BIG rant but something I felt I'd like to talk about.
I don't know if it's happening in the US but in the UK I've noticed quite a few Direct To Video movies using IMDB quotes for the cover.
Come on now! The reason this annoys me is mainly because we have NO idea who wrote the quote! At least if we read "Scary As Hell - Hollywood Reporter" we have an idea the person is an adult, has an education and knows what he's talking about, if the cover says "Scary As Hell - IMDB" How do we know it's not written by a six year old child who is afraid of his own shadow?
I think it shows the company are just desprite to try sell there movie, of course your bound to find ONE good review for any movie on IMDB, also the person could just be sarcastic, the heading could say "SCARY AS HELL" then the review could be all like "I swear I was hiding under my pillows wetting myself when the monster came on with its fake mask on and started farting!" Lord knows look at Troll 2 reviews and there are loads of sarcastic reviews with good headlines.
Fear of the Dark is the movie I saw in the video store with the IMDB tag on it, I checked it out and the quote is there from one review, also this person has only reviewed that movie. Also the cover has two quotes, front and back of the box, both from the same review. I think New Best Friend was another movie to do it but I'm not 100% sure!
Jesus, if it wheren't for Joblo Battlefield Earth may of had to use an IMDB quote!!!
