Just a fun little topic off the top of my head...
5) The Hills Have Eyes- One word...*Bleah*
4) The Excorsist- Should have left well enough alone(part 2 that is, Pt. 3 wasn't that shabby)
3) The Mangler- WTF?!
2) Any Amityville or House
1) Any Halloween after part 2- we go from killer halloween masks to stupid cults to that guy from "Dharma & Greg" dressed in black to Michael crying?! And then the biggest insult...Busta Rhymes going all Kung-Pow w/ the shape and Tyra Banks shaking her ass? Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit!
Troll 2 shouldn't have been made.
Any puppet master sequel, i think they're on like 10 or so.

Childs Play and Scream did not need sequels. the first ones are great, but after that they just went downhill.

To be honest I think sequels that span longer then two(unless it is a very strong film) is a prime example that directors can't move on and/or film houses only really care about sqeezing all the money from a franchise.

I like TXCM and its sequals EXCEPT part 4 which is inexscusable
We should start a thread about which movies shouldnt be remade, i would say TXCM, Dawn of the Dead, and i guess any of the zillion movies they're remaking now

I totally agree w/ you Cronos... they should have never made sequels to Del Toro's Mimic. I was a HUGE fan of the first one and it ended on a good resolution. I also forgot to add on my list the Leprechan(sp?) series... excluding Leprachan(sp?): In The Hood...Just the campiness of it put a smile on my face plus seeing Ice T in a 'fro amused the hell out of me!

THE CROW!!!!! Brandon Lee died!!! WHAT THE FUCK ARE THESE PEOPLE THINKING!!!!! I am a huge "The Crow" fan and i think Brandon Lee MADE that movie what it is. Brandon Lee was sensational as Eric Draven, and when he died, the series should have died with him. American Psycho did NOT need a sequel. it is a masterpiece, and Christian Bale deserved like 10 oscars for his performance. Leave it alone.
I don't think "The Prophecy" needed any sequels.

- Amityville Horror 1 and 2 were great, but the rest were more or less cheesy and predictable.
- Blair Witch Project was a great and unique horror film, the sequel that followed was terrible.
- I hated all of the Scream movies, I just found them to be too cheesy.
- Poltergeist 1 and 2 were great, 3 wasn't so good in my opinion.
- Anything after Halloween 1 and 2 shouldn't have been made.

1. Jeepers Creepers (the first one sucked enough ass)
2. Silent Night Deadly Night (there were like 4 sequels...barf)
3. Pirahna (this one didn't need a FIRST movie)
4. Exorcist (need i elaborate?)
5. Candyman 2 (part 3 was cinematic crap)
6. F13 part 7 (part 8 was so incredibly stupid)
7. Pet Sematary (Zowie the dog was the best part of the movie)

A sequel can be blessing in disguise or just a horrid mistake to an original. When an original makes bank at the box office, there is always gonna be a sequel drummed up somehow. Sequels pushing past a fourth installment is pushing it as in case of the Halloween movies. H1,2 & H20 I liked the rest was shiity.
Carrie 2 was just a mistake to begin with.
The movie Scream brought back horror flicks to the theaters. S2 was good, S3 was weak but Parker Posey kept me afloat. I Know What You Did LAst Summer was awright. The I Still sequel had a lot of holes and in the end did NOT make sense. The Friday The 13th movies was supposed to be 13 installments but it stopped at what? I forget. And lastly The Exorcist II was just saaad.

you know i have the double disc of the fly series. the dvd set that comes with fly 1 and fly 2. I still havent' watched the fly 2 because i hated it sooo much when it first came out.

I still don't get why the fuck Children of the Corn had so many sequels. It was a bad movie, it's sequels were worse, why were they even there?
And of course, Scary Movie; the promised us no sequel, but there came the money monster. I was really, REALLY dissapointed in the Wayans brothers for letting money take 'em to movie hell that way.

hmm I like what i am hearing. Most, if not all, of those movies should not of had sequels. I usually dislike sequels because I like to think "what if". Also having sequels sometimes destroys the plot or even damages the image of the villian. I havent given much thought about which sequels should not of been made because there are so many, but one does stick in my mind, Fright Night 2.
