So, like I asked. Is anyone on a school sports team right now? Or has anyone ever been on one? I'm talking about high school and university. Any jocks? Any football stars?

Me, I'm on the soccer team. Centre defence. I thought about this because we had a tournament today (got our asses kicked). I've been a soccer man for 2 years, now.

Anyway, post away, bitches.....

I'm a little older than most of you, so my team playing was some time ago. But I used to be on a basketball team, softball team, swimming, and track back in my junior high and high school days. Oh and I was in gymmnastics when I was a wee child, and then a few years later I continued on the YWCA gymnastics team. :D

I'm an old fart now, but I'm still a bit of a jock. I still run regularly just for myself simply because I love it, and I've never lost interest in sports.

I didn't start my jock days until I had graduated. I'm rather accomplished now, but was way too busy getting stoned from 83-86.

I'd still work anybody here on a basketball court.;)

I play on a club hockey team through my school, if that counts. Left wing represent!!!

Although I can play right if I have to.

I was the Senior High School football captain at Soccer and Indoor Hockey, playing soccer with several professional clubs until the age of 20 with Hearts, Dundee FC, Raith Rovers FC, Dunfermline Athletic and trials for Scotland Schoolboys at the age of 17. I quit Raith Rovers the day before I was due to sign my contract when they tried to insist that I leave University to concentrate on full-time football, instead taking up kick-boxing and boxing with my brother to keep fit. To be honest, all my football was played for my mum and dad, becauae it made them so proud, but I much preferred Indoor Hockey (I was the goalkeeper and got to dress up like Robocop). I don't miss it a bit....

I can take a picture of all my trophies, if you like?;)

I moved during the summer, so I was the new kid at school at the beginning of the school year. I was kind of nervous and ended up not joining the basketball team. Darn. Kids were asking me, too... since I'm the second tallest guy in the school. I regret not signing up.
But I may do baseball this year, I play right field.

I didnt play sports in school. Wasnt into that whole "you must win or else no one will like you' scene that goes along with high school sports.

I did stuff outside of school. 3 on 3 at the courts, impromtu baseball/softball games, league bowling.

Speaking of bowling, I could do to anyone here in bowling what Grebby could do to us in basketball. And I am not joking.

Back in the day I was one helluva left tackle in football. I was even mentioned in a recruiting magazine for the state (yes its encased in plastic probably more secure than most valuable comic books). I received a few letters from around the nation (Air Force, Columbia being the biggest) but never pursued playing in college too much. Boy do I regret it now.

My old school actually has started an annual alumni game the past two summers. I was going to play this year, but I hurt my knee in one of the practices leading up to the game. I tell you it was better than sex lacing up the cleats and throwing on the pads again and just laying a hit on someone. :D

I played basketball for two years, but sat out my junior year lifting weights and stuff for football. Didn't bother going back out for the senior year. I pretty much was just the Rick Mahorn of the team, put in to get a rebound here and there and throw my body around beating up the other team.

I tried wrestling once for like 2 weeks, but couldnt get past wearing the tights and rolling around on the ground with another guy thing.

In the early nineties, I was a goalie and forward for my high school floor hockey team (two different teams).

Now I just play floor hockey once a week with a bunch of guys.

I played soccer for a good 13 years, varsity high school and played on a bunch of club teams. Lost interest and passion going into college though, still play from time to time.

In middle school I played everything (football, basketball, whatever). In high school I ran track and played soccer. Now that I am in College........ I sit on my ass.

Bring it!

I was on the swim team for 12 years including the first three years of high school. I also ran cross country track (I was one of the best), played basketball and tennis (not as good).

I hurt my knee pretty bad my freshman year of high school and had to quit running and bball. I still swam for a few more years cuz it helped strengthen the knee, however, I couldnt compete as well after the injury.

But that was years ago. Now I cant even see my feet.

Right now I'm on my High Schools varisty soccer team. We are 19-2-2 and are playing in our regional finals and have only 3 more wins until we win state. I start at left defense. We have the best player in michigan....hes getting recruited by michigan, kentucky, indiana, michigan state, and just about every other school.

I run cross-country for my high school. State meet is tomorrow, and if our team places in the Top 6, we go on to New England Championships in Manchester, NH! It's a real long shot, but if our team has its day tomorrow, you never know...

I also play tennis in the spring, and do a variety of intramurals and CURLING! In college, I definitely want to step it up for intramurals if I go to a D-1 school like I plan on, or run varsity X-C/Track if I go to a D-3 school.

Didn't have any teams at high school, but I'm at college level now, freshman, and I'm in the Sciences Po basketball team. I used to play center, but now I'm playing with older, taller, buffer guys, so I basically play every position -- most of the time forward, but sometimes I even get to play the point when we're going with a tall lineup.

And hey, I'm not bad...The three last seasons, when I played basketball at a regional level in a team outside school, I averaged about 22 points, double-digit rebounds and a few blocks a game. Even made it to the regional team selections once. The points I can't take credit for (they came because I'm tall), but I'm one heck of a defensive player. I'm on my man like shit on velcro, from minute 1 to minute 40. ;)

Hmmm....I would be on the basketball and baseball team if the people in my school weren't such pricks. Case in point: I made MVP FOUR TIMES in a row on the summer baseball league, which features baseball players from our school. When I try out, the crappy *cough*RICH*cough* kids ALWAYS get on, while me and other great players are left out. Same goes for basketball. Fuck team sports (the only one I still play is summer baseball), this is why I stick to skateboarding.

Just to update you...our soccer team is now in the division 2 state finals. We beat East Lansing in Penalty kicks in the state semi-finals and they were the best team (besides us) left so now we are very big favorites to win state which we havent done for 17 years. We've gone into PK's twice this post season and the first time we did it was against the #2 team in the state and I kicked the game winning PK (I didn't get up to shoot the 2nd time b/c we had already won it)

I wrestled from elementry school until high school, I played baseball until 7th grade I hated the coach at school and sucked anyways, Played football up until highschool since wrestling in Oklahoma started practice in the summer around the same time football practice did. After high school I would play pick up games of roller hockey with friends and others.

Well, this week was the start of the season for our basketball team. We had 3 games, and our record is 2-1. Woo, that last win was a big comeback, and felt very rewarding. Our loss though, well, we played a 6A team (the highest division in our league), and we're a 4A team, so we weren't expected to win, but I'm still kidna bummed, I was hoping for a perfect season. Our next game is Monday, yippy!

I played basketball and softball, but sucked at both. Now I play inline hockey whenever I can.
