I totally regret buying "Don't Say A Word." I had seen it once and enjoyed it, so I bought it, but it was a stupid mistake. I never watched it except for once.

Shaolin Soccer..
Anyone want it? Since I paid $18 for it, I wouldnt give it away for free, but give me an offer.. It's only been viewed once. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif
For anyone who doesn't know what the hell it is, its a pretty funny comedy about Shaolin graduates who use soccer as a way to make good money. If you are a fan of asian film, this will definitely be up your alley.
Although it may not sound like much, it is a clever parody of other Asian movies and it has much physical comedy. I found it hilarious, but it was not something I could watch over and over again.
This movie wont be out in American Theaters for at least six months. Also, you can't buy it (legally) because Disney has blocked out the sale of the official chinese DVD from business (because of their plan to release the film). If this was something that you wanted to see, give me a mail and I could give you mine or refer you to where you can get it..
(You could see the trailer here: http://www.i-cable.com/heeheehaha/home.html )

i regret buying from hell because i'll probably rarely watch it, but i usually just regret buying a dvd and then finding out that a better version is coming out a month later
DVDs I regret buying: 54 (almost regret. Salma & Neve, hmmmmmmmm), The Calling, Children Of The Living Dead, The Tie That Binds, The Wrecking Crew. And probably a few more.

54 was AWESOME! I wish I had that DVD...
I regret WINNING Town and Country!!! Heh heh... can't complain cause it was free, but DAMN did it suck like nothing else I've ever owned (or rented for that matter).

I think I probably regret buying the T2 SE DVD tin...I bought it because I love the film and there was millions of extras..but I can't see me looking at most of them to be honest. I didn't like the commentary and I could just watch the film anyway when I taped it off the TV. But still I suppose it looks good on my shelf..

I regret buying The Lord Of The Rings (1978). I mean I know it was the 70s, but whoever decided to make the Ringwraiths (without cloaks), Orcs, Men Of Rohan, the Bree inhabitants, and at times EVEN the Fellowship of the Ring distorted live-action? That movie fucking sucks. I also regret buying the Gremlins (normal ed.) DVD a couple months ago, 'cos the Special Ed. is coming out right near my BIRTHDAY! God am I stupid!

Not only boasts this THX certified T2: The Ultimate Edition DVD a beautiful, sensational looking 16:9 enhanced 2.35:1 widescreen transfer, the remastered dts-es surround sound absolutely kicks ass. Plus you get 3 (!) different versions of the movie. 1: the original theatrical version (136 min), 2: the extended directors cut (153 min) and 3: the secret directors cut (additional restored scene PLUS the alternate ending!!!).
One thing I don't get...you say you loves this movie and then you don't (?) because of the commentary and extras?
If you really love this film like you said, then you should be happy you got the DVD. Take some time (weekends?) and try to dig through the extras. It took me two days but it was worth it.
T2 is a great film and never looked or sounded any better thanks to the DVD.

Domestic Disturbance. The extras aren't particularly bad, but I didn't like the film.

edit:
I do love T2...it's just it's not really the type of film I would watch a lot. I don't love it half as much as some others. It's still breathtaking now in terms of action and all that but I definetely wouldn't watch it over and over.
I didn't really like the extras, but then I'm not really interested in the making of it. I just think it's a really cool film that you can just watch.
Other DVD's such as my Se7en one I could watch again and again.
Anyway, I guess I don't regret buying it that much..just the one I regret most out of the ones I own.
Thanks for explaining fryman - I just got a bit confused about your "love this film/don't like the DVD/extras and/or whatever." http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

Definitely Subway. I like Besson's work usually and I had seen this movie before and thought it was ok, but I was on vacation and decided to buy it for kicks. When I got home I discovered it was full-frame, and dubbed(very badly, might I add) in english. And I had taped the movie from television a few weeks earlier, which had better image and sound. I haven't watched the DVD. I guess I should get rid of it.

I regret buying The Grinch. I haven't even opened the damn thing! It's still in perfect condition. I've only watched the movie once in the theater, but I can't force myself to watch it again.

I regret buying The Mothman Prophecies because I can't see myself watching it too often because of its slow moving story. I don't regret buying Domestic Disturbance because it's so short that it's easy to watch fairly quickly. Btw, should I buy The Time Machine DVD coming out July 23rd? I liked it when I saw it in theaters but do you think that it's worth buying?

13 Ghosts remake. When I saw it in theaters I enjoyed it. But when I watched it on DVD it started looking stupid and I noticed how really awful the acting and dialogue is. The only thing I enjoyed the second time was the gory make-up and the few scares it offers. I haven't seen it since, though. What a fuckin waste.

Its a good thriller but the dvd is trash. I get a theatrical trailer, and the typical language and audio options, nothing other than that. Thanks Paramount for showing you really appreciate your fans (*sarcasm*)!

Planet Of The Apes (2002). Never was able to see it in theater but i was so excited when it came out on DVD. So my parents bought it and when it was over i was very disappointed. It wanst what i expected it to be.

I know what you mean. I'm a huge Angelina Jolie fan and I thought she did a great job in the movie. I begged for the DVD for Christmas and after I got over being impressed with Angelina as Lara, I realized how thin and see through the plot actually was. I'm still crazy about her accent, tho! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Jay & SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK. I guess there the CHEECH & CHONG of the new millenium, but I was a little dissapointed.I still have to check out all the bonus material, but the movie itself just didn't do it for me.A few chuckles I'll admit, but overall, I liked them better in DOGMA.

*gulp* "Get Over It" OMG . . . I'm going to Film Hell. For the record - It was a "blind purchase." I also bought "Valentine." But it was, in a way, my first DVD. (Before receiving my DVD player for Christmas one year, I would watch DVD's on my computer. My first actual DVD was "Scream.")
A few blind purchases that backfired on me:
The Ruling Class
The Kid With The Golden Arm
Shaolin Master Killer
Family Plot
I've actually had very good luck with blind purchases in the past, though.

Bring It On - the big soar thumb in my collection. I had a huge obsession with Kirstin Dunst so I bought it just so I could look at her a bunch.

Pitch Black
Perfect Storm
From Dusk Till Dawn....regular version
all those are decent films, but I just never watch them.

1.Monsters Ball- Bought blindly
2.Zombie-Awful transfer
3.Super Troopers- Got it foe 10 bucks and isn't all that funney...
4. A Beautiful Mind (Fullscreen)- My mom bought this for me at my local mom and pop video store for 10 bucks, apart from the fact its Pan and Scan the movie (like Monsters Ball) is overrated as well...
5. Image of Bruce Lee/Fists of Fury- Goodtimes can make decent DVD tranfers(Halloween 2 and 3) and horrible, horrible tranfers. This one qualafies in the latter.
6. i am sam- This seems really out of place in my collection
